I have been having the same issues since December 2025. Reported in multiple threads and tickets here and Steam. No answers from anyone involved in the game anywhere. I don’t see that they are even trying to fix this!
I wonder if they have any human employees there… or maybe no-one knows how to code / program anymore? Problem caused by Ai and Ai doesn’t know what it broke nor how to fix?

I have the same issue as OP, achievements are unlocked in-game, on Steam, but not in Xbox. Tried with AoM for comparison and no problem with that, so it’s definitely an AoE IV problem. It’s unfortunate as AoE IV achievements were always the least reliable in terms of unlocking but this is unprecedented:/
New update today May 7th 2026, this still isn’t fixed. No mention of it on the tracked bugs page that was linked from the update documentation page either. The workaround of saving and reloading still works at least.
I have the same problem since October. Have just found out that if I save the game at any stage, finish the game (which gives the Waiting message), and then load the saved game and finish playing again, the results are recorded. Please get this fixed, at 88 I can’t wait forever!
I don’t think the devs check this forum. Buggy achievements have been a thing for as long as I can remember. I can’t even get the Norman campaign completion achievement or reward. Nobody cares they just want to sell us DLC.
