After the update I can't play online

I can no longer play online games on both my PC and my laptop. I traveled to another region of my country (Brazil) and tried to play online on my laptop and I can’t, it gives me the same error that started to occur after the update on my computer at home.

I noticed that when I click on a game name, the list of players appears on the side, so the names don’t appear and if I click on one to view the profile, it gives me the same error, nothing loads!

And as I said, this is happening on my laptop and PC after the update this week.

I’ve already checked the firewall and today I’m traveling, but online games aren’t working for me even on my laptop!

I am also having that exact same issue and have also checked firewall, gpu, reinstalled the game but nothing’s worked. Too bad, I guess it’s time to stop playing but good thing I didn’t pay for the new content.

I am also having this issue, I have checked the firewall, the files, reinstalled windows, toggled crossplay, and changed owner properties for RelicCardinal. Nothing has changed it.

I playing on xbox store, i have same issue. always i getting “you cannot join multiplayer game” error.

I contacted the support, but They responded to me with ready-made answers with situations that I have already tried to resolve, and they claimed that the problem is my computer. How? If this is happening with my laptop that I take on trips to different regions of my country, and on my PC in my house!

It’s not your computer because it’s happening to others too, but doesn’t sound like they’ll care to resolve it for those of us that are having the issue.

This is also happening to me!!! What the heck. I can only host games. I cant join any other lobbies. Once in a while the invite will work but invites rarely go through to me. Also sometimes when i open chat to my friend it says I have been blocked by user when Im clearly not.

Well, your complaints are the same as mine, I have the same problems. And so far nothing has been done to solve it! And the response I receive from support still says that the problem is my computer, in this case both have the same problem.

Im also having the same issues. It doesnt shows me steam gamer profiles only xbox profiles. I dont get invites, it not even shows me a notification. When I invite my friends to a group and we trying to start a ranked or quickmatch as soon as a lobby is full there is an error message. I tried to play with another account on the same computer and it works. It is definitely not my computer.

I have gone through all standard procedures like firewall, crossplay off- on. Restart router, reinstalled the game multiple times nothing seems to work.

The support team didnt say its on my end tho, they told me they dont have a time frame when this might be fixed, but they hope its soon.

I suspect they working on it.

I received confirmation from support yesterday that this is a bug and they’ll be working on fixing…I guess we just wait until a patch is released.

No still same issues. But the support team told me in an email by yesterday that they are currently investigating and working on a solution. Well, it seems we have to be patient.

Almost 1 month and still no solution to this annoying bug! And support only says it’s a computer or internet problem, even though several Xbox players are having the same problem! Regrettable!

Oh wow, they said it to you? It cant be a computer or internet problem, cuz it works for me with an another acc on same computer and same internet connection. They never said it to me tho, only that they are working on it.

Yesterday, my aoe4 login reset while I was on and It started working! But I went on later and it was back to the same problem. I logged out of windows and tried again. No luck… I am starting to think this is some kind of windows problem just for this game. I just feel shaded for how much support I gave this game since launch and this is the thanks I get. Cant even play it.

Not sure why but if you make another account from the Xbox app the game works perfectly, on the same computer, without even reinstalling the game! Maybe it has to do with the microsoft store mismatch when u do so. Or maybe being a new account I still havent done something that broke the game, yet ( like for example link it to Steam?Assuming that’s a user problem). I really dont know, it should be the developers job to figure out how they put out a boken game for so many users (Microsoft Store users precisely) and yet not clear aknowledgment on the known issues section of the official site… Gross …

It’s a shame that it’s been over a month, and support doesn’t care about solving this problem! And we Xbox users are abandoned! Where’s the solution? Create a new account to play? I WILL NOT DO that, and this recommendation is ridiculous! Or buy the game on STEAM and start all over again? It’s a shame and it’s disrespectful to the consumer!
And I see here on the forum several Xbox players with the same problems! And the support’s response is always the same #@$%!@#%#@!% claiming that the problem is the PC and internet connection, but in fact, they never admit their mistakes and don’t even consider fixing this bug that started to appear after the new DLC!

I hear you bro, tried to contact support and I get 15 year old type of answer, no efforts to dig in to the problem no additional questions to see if there’s a way to understand the nature of the problem, basically their position is if it works for the most it sucks to be you! shameful! they basically said: if it works on a new account you definitely need to talk to Microsoft…Really? What if its a server data issue? Which might affect accounts differe ntly based on past activities, like Mods installed or different sized friendlists…or something like that? Even if that was the case, if you care about the game community you should investigate the problem and suggest consumers what to do regardless. How about you Support guys talk to Microsoft instead of us and check why theres lots of people complaining about the game and get it fixed for us, it would save a lot of annoyances from customers, wouldn’t it? And it would make you look more professional in my eyes. But the reality is i believe at this point they know well what the problem is, and probably the solution would require a long ass server maintenance which is not good marketing wise…that assuming they even know what they messed up exactly! At least aknowledge the problem and give us something like ok guys we found a problem and we are working on it…and being specific about what the issue is and what platform is affecting, along with the list of consequent bugs (like bugged profiles, inability to browse mods, inability to observe games,inability to remove inactive friends, etc.). None of that seems to be happening right now unfortunately. For now, past one month in, you gotta keep that feeling of “you are the problem not the game” which is not funny at all.
