Gatling Camels are ARTILLERY, first and foremost. No infantry unit is good against artillery.
Culverin have a x4 into abstractartillery
. The problem is Gatling Camels also have the abstractcavalry
tag, which halves the damage Culverin do.
This means that they need to have an additional, hidden bonus directly into Gatling Camels to overcome the abstractcavalry
tag that Gatling Camels have in order to ensure that Culverin do the expected damage instead of half the damage.
Culverins deal twice as much damage to Gatling Camels as to other Artillery, not the same amount of damage. Thereâs no way any player could âexpectâ this to happen, the damage they deal is completely unexpected and unexplainable without manually extracting the game files and checking whatâs going onâŠ
Like @matazombis4087 says in the first post, it is mathematically impossible for them to ever deal so much damage, based on multipliers visible in the game UI.
If the devs intended what you say, the hidden bonus would need to be set at x2 rather than x4.
This is because 0.5 * 2 = 1 (no change)
but 0.5 * 4 = 2 (double damage)
Whether the devs made a mistake here I donât know, but either way it kinda showcases why hidden bonuses are generally problematic.
