Age Of Empire V, Are we going to keep buying more of the same?

After all the discussion about AoE2, isn’t it time we released the real AoE5?

Even AoM Retold is graphically, physically, and mechanically better than the original AoE2…

Things like 3D graphics, troop movement, and new physics would only improve AoE2…

It’s impossible to keep buying more and more civilizations for this game without receiving significant improvements…

Are we going to keep buying more of the same?

Maybe it’s just me, but I’m tired of these same buggy 2D graphics and I want something new…

Maybe nobody thinks like that…

I can’t imagine, in 10 years, with around 80 civilizations, still having the same bugs and bizarre graphics… It’s IMPOSSIBLE to continue with 2D graphics, making mistakes like placing the palisade in the wrong place because we didn’t see the map errors and having to use mods that only make the game ugly…
IT CAN’T BE JUST ME WHO THINKS THIS WAY…

If nobody says anything, nothing changes…
It seems to me that nobody wants change…

A game forces us to use mods and even forces us to use mods in ranked mode…

A high-level game that allows us to use mods in ranked mode…

In fact, AoE2 only values older players and disregards new ones…

This is what Ensemble wrongfully thought before releasing AoE3.

So, AoE2 will never change…
The goal seems to be exactly that:
Never change AoE2, because the fans don’t want changes…

AoE5 should be made, as I said in the main topic…

I’m also a fan of AoE2 and have been playing since 2004/2005, if I remember correctly, and for me, changes are welcome, but perhaps most people don’t want them… For me, 3D graphics would be excellent…

Perhaps the best strategy would be to launch a new Age of Empires…

AoE V…

I don’t know what AoE V would be like…

AoE2 DE was released in November 2019, and 7 years have passed since its launch. AoE4 wasn’t well received by the AoE2 community, despite being a sales success for new players and still having many players, even if fewer than the AoE2 players…

The question remains: what would a new Age of Empires be like?..

(post deleted by the author)

AoE V should be based on either Antiquity or Modern Era

Cuz they keep on developing II DE and IV, and the first one is the Franchise most sold entry, there is no point to have another Middle Age game at this time

Some would ask for the perildo that occurs in AoE3, others would ask for the return of the perildo from AoE1…
It’s a difficult choice…

Or even all 3 Eras…

The new Age of Empires game, which spans the primitive era to the industrial era, totaling 7 eras…

Primitive Era - Medieval Era - Feudal Era - Castle Age - Imperial Era - Colonial Era - Industrial Era

It could also depict a modern timeframe.

Maybe from late 18th to early 20th century just before the collapse of the last great empires like the Qing Dynasty and the Ottomans. While constant powers seek to rule the world like the Japanese, the British, the French and the Russian

There is a game for that and that game is Empire Earth

The new Age of Empires could have 7 Eras:
Primitive/Dark Ages - Middle Ages - Feudal Age - Castle Age - Imperial Age - Colonial Age - Industrial Age
It could have 2 types of Ranked Play:
Starting from the third era: Feudal Age…
Starting from the first era: Primitive/Dark Ages…

We would have the 3 main games of the Age of Empires franchise in a single game, and across 7 eras…

We will see
Maybe, Maybe not

Or the next game will come with even fewer Ages
Just Three and thats all you’ll get

I’m sure you not the only one who thinks that, but it is an unpopular opinion. Generally, the graphics are not an issue. In fact, the old graphic style has actually helped the game stay popular.

While Age of Empires has a LOT of abstraction, theres limits

Having a Yankee civ in the stone age isnt something that fits age of Empires, and is already done in a bunch ofnother diferent strategy games

Like, Rise of Nations or Empire Earth

I do think a mid 18th century to WW1/2/Cold War game built around industrialization could work REALLY well tho
