So our official statement is
Q: Will you Port WOL to AOE3 DE ?

A: NO , why?

  1. Because the first several months after DE is released, at least, it is likely to get continued official support, in the form of monthly patches like for 2DE, each one breaking WoL.
  2. Because we’d need to redo all the graphics from scratch, to match the new game’s visual style and quality.
  3. Because, we have no idea, how moddable the game is. So we don’t know if its even possible.

Honestly i’m gonna say no. WoL has a lot of faction bloat and some really big unbalance. Some countries really don’t need to be in aoe3. It should stay as the cool mod to try out but nothing more imo. Also i heard the WoL devs are not porting it over to DE.

It would be fine as a separate game mode. Not replacing the traditional way of playing.

WoL devs already said they’re not doing it, so unless there’s a diehard fan who wants to code WoL DE then it’s almost certain never going to happen.

Well, the coding would not be the problem… i think 3 months and thats done.
The models are our biggest issue. Noone wants to redo them.
Since the game does still support the old models, you could use them, it just wouldnt fit to the game.
