Very very very bad patch
you asked us to be patient for 9 months because there are other priorities, we accepted it, you asked us to be patient for the dlc that will be delayed, we did it, we had no communication or information from anyone here and we accepted it for 9 months. and you paid us for all this patience with a so-so bad patch? where is the quality of life (qol) you promised us? because no one saw her
they should make it 4 speed lol
We did expect nothing, then they made us expect QoL and THEN we got disappointet
tbh i think it might change a few matchups, the changes basically gives more ability to scale food eco (royal hunts and russia america) and the russia america gives them abilty to secure map so against strong defensive matchups, instead of being forced to go pedal to them metal rush to contain, you maybe able to boom instead
The fact that the poruchik also cost more food then gold now is also good for rewarding that more food heavy eco
War wagons (though not as designed) are actually pretty accurate for SA.

the train time nerf is tough but an interesting side effect of this change is that the aztec mining card still sets the slingers cost to 30 gold, so technically aztec mining is now providing a cost reduction

lategame german buff? losing 2 base but an addition 5% stats is like a tiny ass difference, the extra hp is nice though

I really like the huntsman addition to russia
the only thing i might want to change is if you just make it unlock house of oldenberg for russia, with the techs
it helps russia on a myriad of fronts (extra vils, cheap musks, hunts now also giving gold, blockhouses give gold and strelet do more damage against skirms)
and lategame when you run out of hunts you can make the huntsnmen into military, curently you kinda cant without the native being available
on the otto “changes” i have a sneaking suspsicion that they might be attempting to make poland a specific otto counter, whatever that might mean(just tinfoil)
It seems like everyone here either had way too high expectations for this patch or tried so hard to have low expectations that they ended up having…high expectations. My only deception is that the AI keeps killing hunt for fun.
There’s a bit of a consensus on this forum about certain things being “broken” in multiplayer and certain things being underpowered. This patch did little to nothing to address much of that, so naturally people here are going to be upset. Those of us who are a bit more casual were hoping for something that would meaningfully shake up some aspect of the game, refresh strategic balance, and keep things interesting. There’s none of that in this patch. There’s next to no new content. Even the patcher is behind the scenes, so you don’t even get to see an interface telling you there’s a patch if you didn’t know it was coming.
With the company offering a long and indefinite delay to a project already delayed so they could work on AoM:R, the lack of PUP, the lack of any communication really, this just hits empty.
People are disappointed and they’re right to be. These people just refuse to talk to us, refuse to listen to us, but still occasionally like to bait us with a carrot on a really, really long stick.
Personally, I want some AI fixes:
-Stop having villagers intentionally screw up the hunts.
-Stop having heavy cav deliberately target their counters instead of the thing closest to them. Trying to get a hussar to attack a falconet is probably the most demanding micromanagement task in the game. The stupid horsemen are allergic to killing the highest value targets on the battlefield and will chase literally anything to avoid hitting artillery.
-Stop having military units prioritize buildings to attack. I do NOT want to see my whole army of 95 units streaming across the screen in 100 different directions trying to find the lowest value buildings to attack while towers pick them apart because they have to attack the arsenal and church instead of higher value buildings like TCs, factories, towers, wonders, etc.
In short I’m tired of my units being designed to literally play in the worst possible way unless I’m explicitly and individually commanding them second by second.
The big thing too is that the anti skirm tech does extra on Oldenburg anti-skirms. The infinite Oldenburg allies kinda sucks without that tech.
eh the allies themselves dont need it counter skirms are affected by CIR which for them buffs their anti-light damage by 1 already
so by default they get like 2.5x and the tech just pushes it up to 3x
which is like good but its not that necessary for it
the lategame damage goes from like 75 to 90
I am looking aztec again but I do think is the slinger change even a treaty nerf?
increasing the train time by 2 seconds is like something but considering that you get net -80% train time from 2 cards and the imp shadow tech its a 0.4 seconds difference (not even accounting for the fertility ceremony)
the cost increase meanwhile only applies to wood and if you get aztec mining, it still retains the old cost. so nothing really changes (unless you are not going aztec mining which i think is like crucial)
Nah, this is an oversight, like any similar change they did in the past (Raj, Aztec mining…)
They should nerf the HC shipments, not the units themselves, also what about BBs? Are they used on the rush? Then move them to fortress or something

i mean if its an oversight then they will change it later, but the information as it stands right now its not a nerf
the HC shipments are already nerfed quite a bit compared to what they were originally, they cant nerf that much further either.
and for the BB, without it being available in age 2, aztec also has no good defensive tool if you want to play greed, so if anything that requires more balace then this.
considering the net impact of these changes, its basically nothing for treaty

Apparenrly Belanda Hitam doesnt work anymore because they touched something. Do they playtest their updates at all? If a loser says this isnt the right section. haha. Think again the update caused this CHANGE. bug is another category… Because this is plain IGNORANCE. haha.

It is 1000% an oversight. Almost every cost change card gets messed up on the first attempt. They forgot to remove the wood cost on the first iteration of Aztec Mining so it made everything cost 3 resources.
