Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition DLC News

Glad it is. This game is so unbalanced its insane. Serves devs right for just listening to same group of influencers all the times

Still needs more votes :+1:

I wonder if this poll will give any response from developers.

It doesn’t look good
and yet they have already switched to AoM and AoE 4
so we just have to keep moving forward

The thing is, corporations like Microsoft think in fiscal years and for each year, they assign a fixed budget to spend. So, as unfortunate as it is, it doesn’t seem like AoE 3 will get anything this year as all the budget is split up between AoE 2, 4 and AoM of which the latter already has a DLC in the pipeline people paid for.

I don’t think MS’s FY plan involves “absolutely shut up”

Given how AoE 1 was treated prior to RoR, I’m not so sure.

You mean this year? Or never?

Announcing the death of AOE 3 seems kills half of me. After several months I still feel very sad. I think I will never be happy in my life.

This year. Which is extremely unforunate as the game turns 20 in October.

My (optimistic) guess for the future is, AoM releases its 2nd DLC and work on AoE 3 eventually continues on small-scale.

We sadly don’t know how much of the DLC content was already finished but I’ve heard that apparently it was already ~60% done? If so and should they not binned the assets, they could then maybe also continue where they left off.

I mean even if MS or the higher ups have their priorities, WE’s communication and attitude was still horrendous

The game still peaks at 4000-5000 on weekdays and more than 6000 on weekends. Good biznes, WE

I see this copium from a lot of people, but I’m quite dubious if only because, unlike 3DE, AoMR is on multiple platforms, so naturally the ROI is higher. To the eyes of MS/WE, AoMR has more potential. Therefore, the fact that AoE3DE has a higher player count on Steam is irrelevant.

My takeaway from the stream is that Tilanus had a rough design of what the civs would be on paper, but no work was actually done. The “We didn’t want to leave the 3DE commnity out” reasoning behind the DLC flag reveal was due to incompentence. I’m so disgusted by WE I wouldn’t put it past them if they had no intention to work on it. Look how callously they dropped the game 8 months after announcing the DLC.

The data patch, which had its fair share of bugs, was obviously rushed out and WE had no intention of fixing them, Much like other bug report the community submitted regarding the issues that persisted for several years prior.

The 3DE community has a laundry list of reasons for the cynicism and contempt for WE.

More communities will join. Wait and see.

I have my popcorn and pitchfork out. We’re in the waiting game phase.

I also have a big sign that says “We warned you”

As they started adopting the strategy of licking one or two “more profitable” playerbases really hard while absolutely bullying their other playerbases, discarding any form of decency, either it is not heading well, or they already have gotten into big trouble. We have already seen signs of it.

Utter shame and disgrace, driven by extreme greed and incompetence. Doubling down by not rescinding their stupidity-laced decision.

At this point I’d be extremely happy with them simply fixing a bunch of the serious bugs and balance issues lol.

5501 votes in petition to continue supporting AOE 3 DE. Intetesting thing is that if Devs would do it for players after Big Lie about false making these Dlc in the past. AOE 3 never had enough love from Developers in ,Definitive Edition period" . That’s sad cause that game have big potential. Slap in the face of AOE 3 community was a very bad move. Devs should repair this situation but expectations are not optimistic. Pity , pity
