It’s a nerf against literally anything except for low dmg ranged units in feudal.
Bugfixes are good, even tho the introduction of new stuff and synced crashing/freezing games right now, but the balance changes… absolutely nobody asked for horsemen nerfs, crossbowmen buffs or even these heavy spear buffs.
Everyone in the competitive scene was concirned about french feudal hulks, yam network aura + khan speedarrow, mongols insane presence on hybrid/river maps, frenches bloated civ bonuses/chivalry in feudal or springald performance.
Heck even the mapspawns are worse now.
In teamgames the minimap is even smaller than before and I’ve seen an oponent just 5 minutes ago in my game that literally spawned in the center of high view, completely surrounded by my 3 bottom teammates spawns… right before the game crashed for everyone of my teammates and me ofc… again…
After two hours of playing: I like the update and I am especially glad that they are not listening to the loud minority of the players that try to push the game into a specific direction.
And imagine nerfing weaker civs and giving them bugs for no reason. Like spend some time fixing bugs not just making them for the lols and nerfing what doesn’t need to be nerfed.
Has anyone been able to view the revealed map after a game ends? They advertised it in the patch notes and before the patch and it’s just not there. This was one of the things people were requesting the most since release and stood out as being something very basic that was in the other games.
I’m wondering if it works for some people? I’ve not seen that many people complain about this. I guess horsemen and Delhi nerf covered it up?
To give them some credit they’ve fixed the bug which enabled you to see your opponent’s civ by minimising quickmatch lobby. They didn’t even list this fix in the patch notes so they aren’t taking credit for it. Very humble.
I got excited when I was reading through patch notes and saw ranged armour buff for Horsemen. However I have never been as dissapointed about patch notes when I kept reading and saw Horseman HP nerf.
Horseman is part of important rock-paper-scissors power dynamic of feudal age units. Horseman being unable to do it’s intended job means we have a paper that can’t win against a rock. This means the only viable counter to a rock is a rock of your own.
How would you nerf Mongols? We’ve already had early lancers removed since beta, our horsemen nerfed making dark age rushes harder and our building speed (albeit bugged) reduced.
yam network is such a big advantage especially when moving the first landmark all over map to follow the army and it s worst if khan sends an arrow to increase units speed, with this you’re quite sure to overkill your opponent army
with the ability to double produce unit such as spearmen you can punish early dock on many maps whatever is opponent civ, on danube, confluence, ancient spires… then vs a mongol most of civs are clearly behind from a eco point of view
with the ability to build springals on the battlefield at age 3 you take advantage on other civs from a mobility point of view and resource (wood) point of view because most of civs need a siege building before producing these units
the landmark that grant +50% gold collected is so strong
I miss some other advantages that make mongols best civ on most of the maps : no need spend resource to rebuild buildings camps to gather resources, just need to move ger to optimize the path of collect, also mongol civ do not spend wood in houses so they can keep it for fishing boats that’s an other eco advantage compare to other civs.
I mean the matter is not 1 of these topics, it is all together that give to mongol their strength. I don’t know how to nerf mongols, this is not an easy question at all.
