Comments:

  • Special Icon.- As you will know when you see the part that refers to Age of Empire IV, a special portrait icon was given to users who connected on the day of the broadcast.

  • “FF in Quickmatch”.- Apart from this, it was confirmed that there will be an “FFA in Quickmatch”, although it is not yet specified if it will be in Nomad (the mode that people like the most in custom).

  • “Xbox Team Ranked”.- As well as Ranked in Teams for Xbox, which is curious because if they didn’t tell me here I wouldn’t know what the Xbox version still lacks.

  • “New Cups for AoE franchice”.- It was mentioned that the RedBull Cup would return but it was not confirmed if it was for AoE IV or only for AoE II.

  • "New content as “Much Much More”.- Of course, it was confirmed that “Not only the Ranked will be restarted” but it will be also a new “Major Update”, and regarding the new content it was reported that will be "and Much Much more". Some of us assume that it is “new unique units and mechanics” for some of the classic civs; probably a new temporary Biome with some interesting event that lasts 1 or 2 months, but anyway, “They haven’t Given no spoiler or hint” about what we could guess.

Final opinions:

  • Regarding the new “secret” content, curiously I don’t feel like guessing, mainly because I want it to be a surprise, like those movies where you don’t want to see the Trailer so that it doesn’t spoil anything.

  • Personally, I really hope they add some new Unique Units or mechanics to the not very used Landmarks of some civs, because apart from that I think the balance of the game is very good since there are no major flaws like in the past: The system of palisades and walls is now more comfortable, balanced marine game, there is now an Editor, etc.

  • Regarding Eyecandy and historical representation: Maybe ask for varied animals per Biome, or for the mercenaries at Neutral Trading Posts to match the biome in question instead of being random (European biome, European mercenaries , Chinese biome → Chinese mercenaries)

  • Oh, and yes, the Japanese Ashigaru Handcanonner would have a harquebus as their historical counterpart. The devs already changed the name of the unit (a good step) in the last update but the correct firearm is missing (T4n3g45h1m4 matchlock, so many are waiting for that in this new Season.
