So, coming back to this… is it correct that if I do not own (i.e., never purchased) “Age of Empires: Online”, then there is no legit way at all for me to play it now?
Since MS no longer sells AoE:O, then only original purchasers of AoE:O can play today (thanks to Celeste), it seems. 'Tis a shame…
You can either get the Steam or non-Steam version using Project Celeste, it doesn’t require any purchase made before the shutdown:
