Age of Pirates: The Best AOE3 MOD I've Ever Played

As an long time player of Age of Empires 3: Definitive Edition and a player who has made MODs, I would like to solemnly recommend the best MOD in my heart - Age of Piracy. Among many MODs, it is the work that I play most devotedly, most amazingly, and most willing to experience repeatedly.

First of all, the city scenery is very immersive. Whether it is the port, the street, or various detailed decorations, it presents a real and fantasy atmosphere. It is not a simple stacking of models, but a perceptible and credible world created with heart. Especially in the design of ports and neutral forces, the background and interactivity of the game are greatly enriched, giving people a feeling of “this is the early modern era in my heart”.

The building model and unit design are also worthy of praise. Whether it is the architectural style or the appearance of the unit, it strictly follows the art style of the original AOE3, which is both novel and not abrupt. The matching logic between units is very reasonable, which is both tactical and fun.

The map design is a highlight. Some maps are even more complete and elaborate than the historical battle maps in the original game, and the level is really beyond the ability of ordinary enthusiasts. Not only the visual effect level, but more importantly, the interaction, resource points, and power distribution on the map all reflect the deep foundation and enthusiasm of the creator.

Of course, from the perspective of a MODDer, I am also willing to make a small suggestion: some units are a bit perfunctory in image design, and may lack some more realistic details and historical immersion. However, this will not affect my high evaluation of this MOD at all.

All in all, “Age of Pirates” is the best AOE3DE MOD I have ever played, and it can even be said to be one of the best AOE3 MODs I have ever played. If you haven’t tried it yet, I really recommend you to dive into this wonderful world for yourself. Believe me, you will not be disappointed.

Since I used Google Translate, my words may not be fully understood, I hope you can forgive me.

Hi, thanks for your kind words. For everyone who didn’t subscribe to the Age of Pirates mod yet, I’m sharing the link: Mods Single - Age of Empires - World's Edge Studio

Btw, you said you have some modding experience. We’d be really happy if you’d share more with us. Therefore, I’m sending an invitation to our Discord: Age of Pirates

Our team needs more less or more experienced modders to keep the content quality you’re used to.

Hey! Thanks a lot for inviting me to join the modding team and the Discord server. But unfortunately, I’m in China, and Discord is blocked here. Without using a VPN or other tools (which I can’t really use right now), I just can’t access it. It’s a pity — the internet firewall makes it really hard for us here to stay connected with communities like this.

Time to open an Age of Pirates fanpage in Rednote.

I don’t mind if anyone creates Age of Pirates Rednote fanpage. I’ll definitely support such activity and I’m sure more people from us will join. But since I personally don’t even use Rednote right now, I’ll probably rather wait until someone creates it or until we have a bigger community of Chinese players. It sound like a good idea to support, so if you want to do the first step, go for it.
