AI absolut garbage

I played another match, you can watch the replay on my aoe account Protoxin. Didn´t kill off a single villager from AI, didn´t cheese, didn´t send a single unit to his base.

Its like a little bit harder as Towerrush, but its still boring. And I don´t want to have to play bad on behalf just to get a little challenge.

I get your point, keep the AI like it is. I just want another level or two. That doesn´t even affect you at all?

The issue is that the gap between playing vs the AI and playing a quick match is waaaaay too big.

Would love to see an extreme setting.

I find its different from game to game, sometimes they build back sometimes they dont. They should definitely always try to build back though. I would also like to see an extreme or expert level AI, hardest doesnt feel as optimized as it could be

I’d have thought getting the AI to deal competently with ram-rush all ins, or tower rushes (and really, they are a key component to ram rushes these days) would be difficult. I guess the developers could go back and programme in 2-3 meta strats by faction and map for the AI to do - but these were not known before the game went to market.

As I see it the hardest AI will moderately competently (doesn’t use professional scouts=bad) boom towards 100+ villagers and aim to grab relics+sacred sites while sending small harassing groups to target your villagers. If you don’t compete - say only build up to 60 vils, launch a bad attack that see’s your army annihilated, and/or let a bunch of villagers get killed by their raids - it can easily run you over at around the 25 minute mark with a horde of units backed by siege, as you are progressively starved of say gold/wood (kind of map dependent.)

Obviously however if you rush/harass the AI to death, or boom faster to an optimised comp, its fairly easy.

Ok but where is that epic battle from your thumbnail?

Better to play vs IA than playing multiplayer vs siege and chinese meta

Agree, sadly a.i needs big improvements.
