Nice job finding the right one
Yeah. I saw a lot that were similar, but the one I found was the only perfect fit.
Eh, the 3K are the most historically inaccurate additions to the game. Iād personally just ignore them, as it would be too difficult to find the right answer, as who knows where they were looking.
Why did they not add the civilisation flags as scenario editor placeable items? To decorate your cities.
Not necessarily, my impression is that itās a hint theyāre planning to give them their own architecture set, but I donāt know if they would go as far as to adding new Scandinavian factions/Civs.
Given the effort it takes to make architecture sets compared to in HD, I doubt they would do that for just one civ.
Also the devs donāt tend to do anything major for free unless it comes with a DLC.
Which looks like devs ran out of good ideas for DLCs if they really think a Scandinavian DLC is a good idea for a middle ages gameā¦
If im not mistaken vikings are the only aok european civi without a campaign still so this gives them the oppertunity to add that.Do we need a viking split is very questionable.
The Viking Age was during the Middle Ages.
Even if they are, thereās no way theyāll make their kingdoms more unique than the current Vikings. What units can they even have which arenāt part of scrapping the barrel with Scandinavia? Maybe mounted crossbowmen tho they fit most western European civs as a regional unit rather than making it unique for Scandinavia.
Maybe a rename (like Saracens to Arabs), a new architecture set with a campaign, but any civs around it? Thatās a stretch for the devs when thereās still potential in Africa/Asia/Americas.
I can see them making the Longboat into a regional unit. And perhaps have the Swedes as more of a gunpowder user than whatever the Vikings end up being named.
If we do get a Vikings split (which I am personally opposed to despite my Norwegian heritage, even though it would mean a new architecture set), I wonder if itās in preparation for an Alexander Nevsky campaign for the Slavs in the future, since the Swedes and Norwegians were involved in the Battle of the Neva and the Danes were involved in the Battle on the Ice. They might feel the existing Vikings civ doesnāt add enough diversity.
The Swedish Wonder would probably be Varnhem Abbey, but Iām not sure what the Danish Wonder would be.
If the split does happen and the currently-Vikings represent pre-christianized Norses, then maybe the wonder should be moved? Because it is literally a church.
No. Christianization occurred at the end of the Viking Age. What better way to represent this than through a Wonder, which would be built in the Imperial Age towards the end of a game?
If the current vikings represent pagan vikings with the wonder perhaps danes can be a new civi representing christian vikings.Pagan shrine and monk can be given to the vikings as well.
The Danes wouldnāt have a Norwegian stave church as their Wonder. Just leave it like it is.
Where did I suggeset to move anything other than the monastery and monk skins for vikings?pagan shrine is the tree thing building in the editor.
Oh, I misunderstood. I assumed that since you want a separate civ representing Christian Vikings that that would mean moving their Wonder.
I think itās fine for the Pagan Vikings to have a Christian wonder since you are ending the game by building a wonder and the Viking Age ended by them getting Christianized.
What borders me a lot more ist that they have Cannon Galleons. Makes no sense. Give them Catapult Galleons and them add some bonus to them if needed.
Yes, I would accept the Norse DLC for AoE 2 and 4 if it allows us to resurrect the Baltic DLC for AoE 3ā¦
I prefer that they put them up all over the cities, waving from the buildingsā¦
Yes, although the Wallace and Bari campaigns are kind of weak, but yes, only the Vikings were left without a campaignā¦then in Asia youāre left with the Turks, Chinese, and Japanese (Koreans donāt count since theyāre from TC)ā¦now if you count the VaV scenarios as independent campaigns, youād only be left with the Turks and Chineseā¦
Could that be Roskilde Cathedral?ā¦
(I know that the Swedish church in AoE 3 is the Riddarholmen Church from the 13th century)ā¦
Yes, that makes senseā¦pre-gunpowder civilizations should have Catapult Galleons (in the case of Goths, Huns, Romans and Byzantines, and adding the Vandals with the dromon is fine)ā¦
You do play as turks in dracula, only chinese left. Why the og chinese got nothing but 3k became a full campaign is beyond me.
