I did my best to provide alt texts and/or file names that would help identify what we’re looking at.

steam alt text ^ “Muisca attackers besiege an Inca stronghold.”

These four seem like they’re from the same town.
thanks to @TheTowerDefender for finding two of these pics

steam alt text ^ “Lautaro leads the Mapuche forces in the Araucanian War.”

steam atl text ^ “1. Tupi, Mapuche, and Muisca forces clash with each other and the Spanish/Portuguese.”

steam alt text ^ “Peaceful villages and towns of the Mapuche, Muisca, and Tupi peoples.”
As a personal note, IDK why there’s a different filter on this img

Two slightly different pics of the same battle

For some reason this picture gives me north american cowboys vs indians vibe.

Can’t thank you enough.

Yes, it has a feel similar to American Conquest or the Shadow Campaign of Age of Empires III… but it’s logical, in the 19th century, the border with the Mapuche seemed like the Wild West in South America… in the 1870s, the Argentine government had “malones” (Mapuche raids) attacking border towns (like what happened with the United States with the Lakota at that time)… the Argentine government, together with pro-government Mapuche toquis, defeated the Mapuche leader Calfucurá at the Battle of San Carlos in 1872, who died the following year. Then in 1879, General and Minister of War, Julio A. Roca, launched his Conquest of the Desert, which conquered Patagonia by 1884, during his presidency (1880-1886)…

In The last picture i saw a Wonder Tupi in The right corner.

It would be the second to last in any case…and yes, it looks like the wonder is that cabin with waterfalls, but it’s probably fictional…

If the waterfall is the Wonder, it’s probably Iguazu Falls. They’re famous in Brazil and Argentina and the name comes from a Tupi/Guarani word.

Yes, I hate having natural landmarks as constructable Wonders, but that’s probably all they could go with. At least there’s that little hut to justify building it.

I do like waterfalls, so maybe I shouldn’t complain. (As a side note, I saw a waterfall calendar at the end of this past year, but opted not to buy it despite my love for them.) It would make a great building for some kind of island resort map.

Yes, it’s a possibility…

Technically the Inca wonder is a natural landmark, since it was built on a mountain. I do agree with the complaint tho.

The tragedy in all this is the native American civilisations using crossbows…What a mess.

Presumably the waterfall will be animated. If it is the wonder, I think that would make it the first animated wonder?

Incorrect. The Aztec Wonder has animated flames. That was added in DE (the flames in the Mesoamerican Monastery were sadly not retained).

Thanks, either I forgot or never noticed. The flames a quite small, so easy to miss. The waterfall, on the other hand…

The Imperial Age Universities of the AoK architecture sets all had an animated banner that didn’t make it into DE.

Indeed. If the waterfall is the Wonder, it’ll probably end up one of my favorites despite not being a building. I see waterfalls far too infrequently for how utterly breathtaking they are.

Yes, but that’s how it is…it’s not like AoE 3 where you can just ignore giving crossbows to the American civilizations (the North American civilizations use gunpowder and the Mesoamerican civilizations simply resign themselves to rushing in the early ages or being wiped out in the late ages)…the only thing left for you would be to give the American civilizations heavy archers instead of crossbowmen…

Ah, I didn’t remember that, what a shame it didn’t reach the DE…it would have been incredible to see the banners waving at the DE.

Yes, the waterfalls are impressive in themselves… if you put a cabin on top, it would all fit the description of a “hybrid wonder” (natural but also shaped by human hands)…

Are there high res versions of all these screenshots? Bizarre we dont have them even with the pre-order entry in Steam.

American civs with trebuchets… :face_vomiting: :face_vomiting: :face_vomiting: :face_vomiting:

Really? Its 2026 and we have added a dozen different weird mechanics and gimmicks to the game that nobody ever asked for (healing nearby units on death? I mean wtf is the logic behind this even? Are they just running generating random nonsense in chatgpt or something and adding it in as a “feature”?) but we still can’t redesign Amercan civs so they have some more realistic siege options?

I’d love even more regional stuff, but does anyone even have a suggestion to replace this?

How about a slow, fragile bowman unit that fires flaming arrows within a 12-tile range? It costs 50 wood and 50 gold, and deals about 33% of a Trebuchet’s damage to buildings (possibly through lingering fire if you want something special). The civs could use +2 population space to field this unit as a substitute for a Trebuchet, trading −75% cost and −4 range for much lower durability. Essentially a reference to the Arrow Knight from AoE3, and I just found that this is what the Fire Archer was supposed to simply be (without that long range though).
