Alligators vs Crocodiles

Something that always bugged me a bit in the original is how there were alligators but not crocodiles. I feel almost as if these were a bit miss-named since the setting is mainly Mediterranean/Asian with no American cultures at all. The only alligator in these parts is the Chinese Alligator with very limited distribution.

Also I feel like they should get to lurk in the water and not just the land. What do you think?

Tomato Tomado
Potato Potado
Alligator Alligador.

Let’s settle it by renaming the alligator king to crocodile king for alliterations’ sake?

Also I feel like they should get to lurk in the water and not just the land.
They’re always on the shore, and on the shallows. Which I think is fine, because I see no reason for them to be in the water to obstruct fishing ships or galleys? Idk, it’s nice to have some extra villager threat other than lion.

Crocodiles typically are associated with man eating. Alligators rare consume people.
