Alternate Campaigns

Basically anything from the Last Khans onwards is amazing, with maybe a few exceptions, so if you haven’t played any of them, I strongly advise it. The DLC campaigns are spectacular for the most part.

I quite like the RotR campaigns, to be honest.

They reworked quite all the campaigns in 1 DE, all the scenarios changed their name and even the scenarios enemies and layouts, obviously they still do not have triggers of any kind…

Yes, Mayan campaigns such as Pakal the Great (628-683) or Lady Six Sky (682-741), An Lushan Rebellion (755-763) for the Chinese, Canute the Great (1016-1035) or Harald Hardradra (1030-1066) for the Vikings and Japanese no idea, it can be any campaign from the Heian period (794-1185) (at the end of this period you have the Gempei Wars that are already in the game) to the Sengoku period (1467-1615) (at the beginning of this period you have the Onin War, which lasted until 1477 and at the end of this period the Japanese unification seen in Kyoto and Japanese campaign in AoE 3)…

Normal, it is a medieval game, it was not designed to portray the late antiquity, it is as it happens with the campaign of Yamato in AoE 1 that in its last scenarios takes place in the Middle Ages (587-740), but it feels as if you were still in the Iron Age…
