I have also added units for the Iberians - Crusaders and Condottiere (Knights of the Order of Santiago) and Almogavres (modded Guardsmen) - but as is well known, the AI unfortunately does not train these units anyway.
I have also reworked the Iberian port once again and added port fortifications.
The Berber city has also been slightly modified visually. The (Central Asian) observation tower in the center has been renamed “minaret.” The large market has also received some minor details.
I have a general interest in history and enjoy delving into it.
Besides that, I’ve always done targeted research online. Some inspiration also comes from films, magazines, etc. And ultimately, of course, it’s also a lot of my own imagination.
I simply enjoy designing maps and simultaneously doing background research. Whether it’s, as in this case, about the Almohads in general, the Maghreb as a whole, or Marrakech or other cities relevant to the Berbers since the Middle Ages. I can’t even begin to estimate how many hours I put into each map. But it has truly become a hobby where I can indulge my general interest in history.
I’ve made some more changes to the Ribat and added storage stables. Firstly, I thought it looked pretty cool, and secondly, they now also serve a purpose for training units.
The stats and attributes of the hero units have, of course, all been adjusted accordingly. However, this would be completely excessive in a “normal” game. My main focus is on the atmosphere, so I wanted to incorporate as much of that as possible into the map, including historical (Berber) units I was able to research.
I’ve now thoroughly tested everything, and the map is finished. If future DLCs offer new possibilities (whether buildings, units, or other eye-catching elements), I’ll revise it accordingly.
