Now we also get EW, it is really time that the devs fix this. Otherwise the EW 1v1 and TG ladders will start as a mess as well, like the current TG ladder. I posted the following in the announcement thread of ranked EW:

I love the fact that EW is coming to ranked. I pretty much support that change. Getting rid of DM might be a mistake. My preferred option would be to have RM, DM and EW in ranked play. I have to say i dont really play DM. So for me it doesnt really matter that much.

In the blog you write about getting a good MP experience in ranked. DM doesnt fit this description as result of unbalanced games. Just to illustrate my point about unbalanced games, i want to quote some statements out of the blog:

occasionally significant ELO gaps between opponents

or they get matched up against a player at a vastly different skill level than themselves

There is currently also another issue why games arent balanced. This has to do with the following bug:

As results of this bug, the TG ladders are messed up. Elo doesnt represent skill. As result games are much more unbalanced then needed.

Since your starting rating on this new ladder also depends on your rating on other ladders, this mess on the TG ladders will transfer to the newly EW ladders (1v1 and TGs). As result the games on the EW ladder will also be unbalanced.

Please take the time to fix this issue as well, so we really can enjoy the new EW ladders!

I would even advice to just fix the formula (this look easy, just replace the max by the average) and then reset all ladders. That is the most easy fix with the least effort for the dev team. If you dont reset the ladders, then TG ladder will still be a mess. And also the newly EW will become still a mess, since they will use the ratings of other ladders as starting point. Instead of sorting out their mess, the most easy solution will be a full reset of the ladders. But that might be a unpopular decision…

Edit: Looks like @ChristheCo is tracking the bugs. I see his name pop up in the bug report section on behave of the dev team. So i will tag him here too. Hopefully he can make sure this issue will also be tracked quickly.
