Ancien Regime card (and potentially Prince-Elector)

This card is very interesting and was added in the big anniversary patch. It allows the french to get access to two House of Bourbon techs and to train two Bourbon native units, namely the Royal Musketeer and the Royal Dragoon. These two units can be train in an ambassy, albeit they cost pop (1 for the musketeer and one for the dragoon). In addition, there is a build limit of 15 musketeer and 20 dragoons.

I don’t understand the build limit for these two units, considering that i) they cost pops and ii) there can only be three embassy buildings. The same things could be said regarding the Royal House the german get access with the Prinz elector cards.

The design is interesting considering t that France has access to numerous native combat ability-enhancing cards.

It’s okay that they have a limit, French native units get absurdly strong.

the problem is that they do not provide any immediate advantage and are not at all viable in competitive 1v1 or 2v2.

They should improve them:

  • Becoming cards of age 1. (although the German would lose her uhlans for free…)

  • Sending a free native embassy.

  • Sending some native units (could be add a “x” res cost)

  • Giving them synergy with the card native treaties.
