Another North American Civ Iroquois and Algonquian

Apologies for bringing up an old topic, but i really appreciate how much research went into this concept.
I know for a lot of people this doesn’t fit in with their image of what AOE2 is, but in my opinion AOE2 is the best AOE and should have the most content and will one day take all players of the other AOEs.

I would love these civs added. the more diversity the better I say. Maybe the Haudenosaunee and algonquian could just be scenario only civs if that placates the haters?

I doubt that players of other AoE games will switch to AoE 2… Vietnam players only like classic AoE 1 and never thought about AoE 2; AoM players like the mythology (god powers and titans) and asymmetric civs of that game; AoE 3 players like the decks, home city, pike and shot combat, Golden Piracy Age, the Napoleonic Wars and Western theme; and AoE 4 players are mostly ex-SC2 and LoL players, who want to try new experiences…

I mean its not only poorly balanced the OP admits to not thinking of multiplayer balance which does a lot of invalidation because at the end of the day this needs to consider the constraints kf being a playable and balanced game

And I completely agree with you, while I am personally more interested in what stories a new civ can tell. If the Iroquois, Algonquian and Mississippians would be added they need to be balanced and fun ingame.

The research I done was to show to people who don’t know much about the pre-Columbian world that civ like this could work in AoE II.
If someone is inspired by the research and want to make the bonuses and ideas more balanced I would be very happy.
I kept tinkering with what I made here, even found more possible Historic Battle scenarios, however I did not felt inspired to post it here.

(I was however surprised/happy/vindicated that with the addition of Karlsefni scenario from V&V the Algonquian are now twice ingame already)

Nobody thinks the byzantine army was known for halberds and camels or that Celts were a siege based empire!

The research for those effects are vacuous and thats me being kind

I think the Halberdier and Camel bonus was done to give the Byzantines extra defensive capability. The Celt siege bonus is just nonsensical.
