Any hints for "Porto" AOE2 DLC?

They better rename Slavs to Kievan Rus’ now or else - riot. :joy:

Kievan Rus’? That man will ban aoe2 in that county.

Jokes aside, neither architecture nor emblem of the Slavs resemble Muscovy or Novgorod.

  1. Tower is Indian fortified tower?
  2. This means new wonder for the existing Indians civ

They should be named Ruthenians and there wouldn’t be any controversy

Devs look at this forum? I thought the official forum was on Reddit

Well in that other thread they just had a lot of engagement with the people on the forum so :person_shrugging:

I feel like r/aoe2 is a slow with the news at times, I get these forums not having really discussions about ongoing tournaments, but not Reddit. I suppose AoEZone is the platform for that, but I don’t want to make yet another account. :sob:

Anyway, the official forum is this one, cuz yknow. And the devs here (but sometimes also on Reddit) respond pretty often from what I’ve seen, even outside of promoting the new DLC.

I suggested adding Ukrainian dialogue for villagers before:

Villagers: Ukrainian
Military: Russian
Monks & Kings: Old Church Slavonic

There’s also the possible option of having the 3 languages of Belarusian, Russian & Ukrainian with archaic phrases.

Good idea but probably best to create an own thread for that as I went too off topic already 11

Eh using Ukranian for Slavs would be pretty anachronistic I believe

Not any more anachronistic than using contemporary Russian.
Kievan Rus’ - Wikipedia

anyways, off-topic

I’m not suggesting breaking up the Slavs Civ. Technically, it’s already happened.

tower is Fortified Tower in campaign

Campaign-only? That would be a shame.

Campaign-only Lv5 tower
we can also found it in Lake Poyang 1363

My speculations based on the 2 official screenshots:

Chakram unit replaces all Indian civs’ hand-cannoneer similarly to Incas’ Slinger.

Battle Elephant and Elephant Archer with new pre-elite designs given to all Indian civs.

All Indian civs get the transport ship which acts like a small fortress.

Current “Indians” named Gurjaras and have the Elephant Archer replaced by the spear & shield unit.
Also keep the Imperial Camel.

Heavily armoured elephant with no rider could either be a campaign-only unit or an imperial upgrade to the Elite Battle Elephant (if the latter… :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth: )

Dravidians UU: Urumi unit

Bengalis UU: white horse unit

(Bengalis in cyan and Gurjaras in red)

(Dravidians in green)

:astonished: Never thought that. It is possible tbh. But I will disagree. It is probably be a UU.

Absolutely not.

I wish one of the new civ (Not necessarily in this DLC) get this as an unique upgrade to Keep.

Wonderful idea, what if japanese Keeps transformed into that when researching Yasama?

Of course, you are right, although I doubt that they put the cows, already being the Spanish or the Venetians, being the Italians … on America would be the issue that they would all be mesocivs of infantry and as long as they do not overlap too much with aoe 3, and also that they would not do justice to many of those civs that would give for more…

Of course, the Kanem Empire (700-1380) and the Hausa Kingdoms (810-1566) (I know they lasted until the Fulani War of 1804-1810, but I prefer to stick to the Medieval period only)…
