This game usually adds 1-2 new civilizations in a year so I think the game will do the same thing this year. So any ideas for this year’s new civilization?
I think new civilaztion can likely be Asian because we haven’t had new Asian civilization for a long time. I think Vietnamese, Korean, Thailand can be new civilizations. Otherwise, we may have Middle East civilizations like Iran.

I personally lean to Asians. Since… Its been getting stale for them when it comes to content.

Lots of ideas, echoed by many
- Asian civs: Persia, Korea, Siam (and Maratha if you fancy poking the whole Indian civ split nest!), possibly a central Asian Khanate (though my knowledge on the latter is minimal)
- African civs: Shona States (with focus on Rozvi Empire), Kongo Empire, Ashanti Empire
- North Africa & Middle East: Morroco, Omani Empire
- Native Americans: Haida (Pacific Northwest Tribe), Mapuche
- Polynesians: Kingdom of Hawaii, United Tribes of New Zealand (Maori)
- ‘Plunderers’ (essentially thorns in the side of empires): Caribbean Sea Rovers (covering the Buccaneering and Golden Age of Pirate coalitions), Barbary Coast (Barbary States of Tripoli, Algiers and Tunis plus Morrocan Sale), Cossacks Hetmanate.
And lastly…
- Euro civs: Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, Danish-Norwegian Kingdom, Austri…(sorry!).
(I think as much as I love the idea of more Euro civs, Asian civs are absolutely top of my list as they have really not been touched)

There is no officially confirmed civilization, but everything would point to a new American civilization, I would bet on Brazil, but personally I want to see Argentina as a complete civilization.
PS: there are many people asking for civilizations from the Middle East and Asia, but adding them would involve a lot of work and would be opening a Pandora’s box, I doubt it will happen, but don’t lose hope, I could be wrong. 
At this moment there is no information about anything bigger for the game in the works, and if they are working on a new expansion and not just a handful of content (random maps, hero skins) I dearly hope it’s anything other than new civilizations.

The player base is small and shrinking. We should add a civ from a country that has a large number of youth with interest good internet. Most South American countries count towards this even though the internet is fair to poor. A good start would be to look at the country stats on Voobly. When I played years ago it was 80% south americans. Maybe more countries have joined.

thats because people on voobly largely pirated.
steam stats strongly suggest that most people are european, its the same for original game.
