hi all, Mery Chrismas !

Since 2days my game aoe2 final edition crash with error 0xc0000005 when i start the game everytime
i have this error sometime too but i dont think is the probleme (all errors in log file):

i’m on Windows10 V19041X64 and my game is on steam

i tried all i have see in internet forum, nothing work for me …
uninstall all mods -> nothing change
reinstall game completly -> nothing change
install graphique pack -> nothing change
reinstall the game without graphique pack -> nothing change
verify file from steam -> nothing change
start programme from file -> nothing change
erase windows profile completly -> nothing change
uninstall all last windows update install since december -> nothing change
sfc /scan now -> nothing change
chkdsk /f /r -> nothing change
change registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionWindowsLoadAppInit_DLLs -> nothing change

Download and run malwarebytes to see if something nasty is blocking your files.

Ok Anyone who is having the sudden crash of error 0xc0000005 should try the following.

Restart your PC

Boot into BIOS

Find bifurcation setting which should be under pci express

Change it from Auto to 8x8

At least this should fix for Gigabyte motherboards
this should fix it
Test and see

Okay I had the same problem for the longest time and I just found a solution! I’m using an intel integrated graphic driver on my laptop. (Intel 12th gen) When I start playing the game, it will crash after a couple minutes.

I had display adapter drivers 31.x.xxx.xxxx and I installed an earlier version and it works perfectly now. You need to chose a version that is 30.x.xxx.xxxx or older. For some reason the newer drivers don’t work with the game.

I have remove all mods and close the UHD,I even uninstalled the game and redownload,but had not solution.

Not to be a drag but, they did say they removed all mods and even uninstalled

I have deleted all mod and uninstalled the game then reinstalled it,but the crash out situation does not change well,and the problem cannot be solved until now.I have no idea about it,can you help me?It always blocked and your screen was frozened,you cannot do anything and then it quit out with the reason running out the memory.I do not know what to do.

Does your laptop have a dedicated grafics card ? or just the APU ?
Can you give us some specs of your mashine, just to make sure it meets the minimum requirements, of the game? :S

It seems that your GPU is an Intel Iris, please do as commented above and install a version 30.x.xxx.xxxx or older of the driver.

Does the entire PC shuit down, or just the game crashes ???

Have you tried this ? Evenw hen your laptop does not seem to have a dedicated GPU ?

:hammer_and_wrench: If you have multiple graphics cards (GPU), make sure the game is set to use best or high performance.

If these steps do not work for you, consider adjusting your settings at the graphics-card level (exact steps for this will vary between graphics card models). This step especially applies if you are playing on a gaming laptop, which may come with multiple GPUs by default.

Steam:

  • Open Steam and locate the game.
  • Right-click on the game and select Manage > Browse Local Files.
  • In the File Explorer that opens, highlight the file pathway and copy it (CTRL + C).
  • Go to your Windows Start menu and search for Graphics Settings.
    • Windows 10 search for Display, scroll to the bottom of the window and click Graphics settings.
  • Open Graphics Settings and click Browse.
  • In the explorer window, paste (CTRL + V) the copied file pathway into the file pathway field.
  • Select the game’s executable application.
  • The application should now show in Graphics Settings page
  • Click Options
  • Change the graphics preference in the pop-up window to High Performance

  • Click Add and the game should now show in Graphics Settings page
  • Click Options
  • Change the graphics preference in the pop-up window to High Performance
  • Click Save

I try the method above but the exe I download from that website cannot operate,I just followed your guide to save the AOE2DE as the high performance.
