Aoe3 needs to continue, aoe2 is running out of ideas

Yup. No one should ever take a promised DLC from World’s Edge as an honest statement ever again. They’ve shown they’re willing to do the unconscionable.

Where is AOE4 at with that BTW? Hmmm, last I heard it was just a couple pictures of buildings with flags to hint at the reveal. Geeeee, why does that sound familiar

Not talking about III announced DLC
Please read again!

He is not arguing, he’s comparing AoE3’s situation to AoE4.
If 3 got axed when players were waiting for a DLC the same could happen to other games

Nah, in AoE4 we are fine. The DLC Knight of Cross and Rose selled as Hot-cakes.

In fact, the devs learn for the problems of the first 4 variant, and dont repeat it again for Lancaster and Templars.

We are very happy right now in AoE4 comunnity.

The Aoe2 instead, are in a chaotic state, because many of their players expect by Hype tha “Tibetans” gonna be a new civ, but when they reveal that they gonna add three-kingdom and north china dinasties as civs, everyone lost their minds, because are acustomed to civs as “racial or ethnic” representation instead of empires and nations.

What a curious turn of events in just one month.

If Worlds Edge worked in chinese civilization for AOE 2 and AOM (No wonder if in the next AOEIV DLC the could include another Chinese variant), they could give some rework to AOE 3 Chinese like giving Bee Nest or grenadier and replacing some obsolete units with firearm battalion

They added a phaqqing COYOTE RUNNER to the CHINESE???

DAS RITE JOSEON NUMBAH ONE!

Wait what?

AoE3 did it first tho with Rattan shields

No, the expectations for AoE4 are just so low that people are pleasantly surprised when they put out something mediocre. They pooched it with the initial “variants” and now they get away with splitting one DLC into two and claiming they’re putting out twice as much content.

Pretty much this.

like which? The grens?

I would have loved to see those fortresses in our AoE Chinese civ to be honest… maybe they could have replaced the Russian one with some unique features like giving access to Age V mercenaries or unlocking some special unite

What a contemptuous and out-of-touch person. If you want to quote me just to repeat your constant disdain for AoE 4, then go ahead, but don’t expect any praise.

It still won’t change the fact that most AoE 4 players loved the DLC; it’s another matter if you’re in the minority still traumatized by the variants, to the point of schizophrenia to find enemies quoting only 6 words.

As an aside, AoE 3 still has no new news after several months.

And from what I can see, the topic strayed from its main focus a while ago, and now it’s just an excuse to throw more mud at AoE 2’s DLC, or for the occasional AoE 4 haters to compare it to AoE 2, only to then “Cry” about why the 3 civs of Three kingdoms “aren´t races”, but actual nations.

In any case, this is a AoE3 thread, and well, no, there is no nows, aside for the Monthly Hero Rotations,

My comments weren’t about the quality the last DLC. From what I can tell it’s actually decent (except balance) and improves AoE4. My issue is AoE4 is just not good in the first place and one decent DLC doesn’t fix the underlying mess.

And the AoE4 DLC was clearly supposed to be bigger and they split it in half to get it out the door on time. That is indicative of the broader problems WE causes.

All that you mentioned is consistent with a topic of how WE is ruining the franchise as a whole.

Reason to quote me for 6 words that says that I like the game? You repeat the same thing on the topic almost all the time, but quoting me for that is already ridiculous.

“Supposedly.”

No, the devs already said from the beginning that there would be 2 civs. I don’t see it as a bad thing either. If you want to see it that way, go ahead, but don’t quote me for just to repeat the same thing in all your comments. You sound like a YouTube ad.

Don’t take my words out of context. Your spam is precisely one of the reasons this topic went off-topic.

Don’t generalize to others to justify yourself.

On the other hand, I have a policy of not discussing things that aren’t relevant to the topic, so I’m not going to talk about AoE4 in an AoE3 thread that’s supposed to be about AoE2. I’ll end here.

You said AoE4 is fine. It very much is not. And you shouldn’t be surprised that people think that on the AoE3 forum.

I wouldn’t be surprised, but I don’t really care.

In fact, you keep talking about “other people.” If they exist, they’d write something, but no, the only one who keeps quoting me is you.

If you didn’t want to annoy me, don’t quote me. Keep adding posts to this post going off topic, but don’t quote me.

Because by quoting me, you’re just saying something: you wanted to humiliate me and expected me to say nothing, or you wanted me to respond. In either case, I’ll respond. If you don’t want responses, don’t quote me.

Note: I read your next post, which was also mocking me. Well, that’s it, I’m reporting your post as Spam. I’m not going to waste my time on a antisocial troll.

Here we have the very embodiment of why companies like WE could still survive. Because they tamed their customers to be grateful as long as they offered “something”.

Some people will defend anything. World Edge has done a terrible job with the franchise. Looks like they are trying to ruin AoE 2 as well either wittingly or unwittingly.
The AoE 2 player base seems to be displeased with a lot of the recent civs and content from what I read.
