I don’t think the players numbers going down is related to gameplay balance, it is just the game overall that is not appealing and people get bored pretty fast, I remember that game received a lot of criticism for it’s graphics and UI, those never were addressed and people just left the game, other people stopped playing after campaign since they found the multiplayer boring, and there are others that found the game play lacking… That’s why I think they really need big changes for a expansion (and don’t even think of DLC) they should address the big issues and not the simple ones.

The 2017 announcement trailer for AOE-4 had nearly 12 million views to date, which means it had a lot of people interested in the game.
That video was published on a youtube channel (windows) that at that time did not even reach a million subscribers, which means that more than 10 million people were interested and searched for themselves.
The point I’m getting at is that there could be at least over 200,000 average active players, and maybe over a million at launch. (It’s just my guess, but I think that could have been the case considering that there were more than 10 million potential customers).

Viendo de nuevo ese trailer, me siento muy decepcionado, sobre todo en la parte que dice “Una nueva era se acerca” ja volvimos a la edad media… además joder! un trailer del 2017 el juego salió el 2021 y le faltaba un montón de cosas

Sí,yo viendo el trailer me re mil hypee con eso de “una nueva era se acerca” y ví que lo desarrollaba Relic,dije “chau todo encaja…siglo XX,guerras mundiales…se viene juegazo”…cuando en el x019 ví que se venía el anuncio de aoe 4 tenía el hype por las nubes,yo ya escuchaba los motores de los aviones y luego pasa el águila y bum…edad media…mi hype que llevaba acumulando 2 años se derrumbó completamente…mi hermano se río y todo…
