Aoestats.io is updated to latest patch. Any idea where I can see stat for previous patch?

Honestly I’m very amazed that the stat website is updated so quickly. I wanted to check some civs stats for previous patch. But I can’t find them anymore. Any help will be appreciated.

Try wayback machine to check older version of the website?

Here is the stats in March 21.

Thanks. Unfortunately it doesn’t let me change stat of different elo range. Guess this is the best we can work with.

Thanks again.

Wtf happened to Gurjaras, they dropped 5 point of winrate

Are they THAT weak vs MAA?

Yup mostly. They were weak against early infantry aggression even before the infantry buff. To see their winrate tanking this much was just, wow.

I wouldn’t worry too much though but rather wait and see. It’s time for Gurjaras players to be more open minded and play their own swordsmen. They should have above average advantage playing this from the food eco at least on paper. They still have potential.

Not enough experience to say but If I were Gurjaras I might start building my early mill much closer to TC.

Have you tested Gurjaras on the chicken maps?
I think that’s the most likely explanation.

I already have thought of a solution. Gurjaras Camel Scout could convert Wild Chickens into tame ones. Though I can imagine that still won’t be enough compensation unless you can garrison way more of them in a gurjara mill.

Ahh. Now it makes sense.

BTW, did anyone check Burgundians? I was really surprised about their changes - flamish militia being available from Feudal Age. So I immediately check their performance against other civs. And devs were correct. All of their worst match ups were against Tatars, Huns, Gurjaras, Georgians, Hindustanis, Magyars - basically top tier Cav Archer, Cavalry and Camel civs.

Currently the sample size is too low. But if you consider all elo, seems like their matchup vs Gurjaras, Georgians and Persians is reverse while any MAA opener civ, regardless of follow up, are their bad matchups - Burmese, Bulgarians, Vilkings, Ethiopians and even Magyars is there.

I think with the low sample size you already mentioned it’s really hard to come to conclusions about individual civ matchups.

It seems that Burgundians have a minimally higher winrate despite their biggest weakness being buffed. So flemish militia helps out. But I didn’t had great hope in flemish having too big impact. Because they gave it the Spearman armor class. Which just means it becomes a more fancy spearman - it doesn’t change the general situation of Burgundians being too slow for the Hamster meta.

I personally would like to reverse the Flemish militia changes but instead have the “Button” adjusted again. Just cheaper as the individual flemish militias had been nerfed before already. But in general Burgundians probably need some minor overhaul so the eco bonus can be more useful on faster maps but taking away eg some Monk Techs so it’s harder to abuse the strong imp timing in slower maps.

BTW: AMazing that jerbot is still keeping up aoestats.io. Really nice to have this source to analyze the impact of changes.Ofc it couldn’t be kept as insight as it once was with all the openings analyzed etc. But it still offers a lot of very interesting information.

Flemish militia are just not that good, I think it has to do with that

They really need a rework. https://www.reddit.com/r/aoe2/s/klvLSiceBi

Well, SOTL is already using the new stats. So I think new stats have enough sample size to draw conclusion.

On one hand, infantry civs get a boost and indirectly buff archer civs. This is great as we can see less scout meta and early castle knight.

On the other hand, one of the biggest losers is Sicilians. The Serjeant change reallly hurt and Sicilians is going into identity crisis again.

Btw, SotL did not talk about Poles. Poles seems to be so poor against m@a.

Is it possible to somehow make them stronger vs archers but maintaining a weakness to skirmishers? That way they can be cost effective vs cavalry and archers without micro but lose to skirmishers and militia.

As I have posted elsewhere:

I am not a big fan of taking games at all levels, because it does not distinguish between a strong but difficult civilisation and an objectively weak one. There are obviously a few matches (1900+ Elo Arabia) but using a cautious approach, i.e. taking the lower-bound for civs above 50% and the upper-bound for civs below 50%, one sees that Maya and Vikings are problably in the OP territory.

You know what would help them? To have a button in the castle where you can select the mode in which they are created. Which was only asked for three years.

Remove the button and put them in the Shock Infantry Class (along with the Condottiero but that’s my personal idea). That way we can talk about an honest buff without having to handle that stupid tech.

Me neither. I always look into four different categories - Below 1000, 1000-1200, 1200-1900 and 1900+.

What?

I second that. I don’t know why they should have “Spearman” armor class.

Im not proposing a buff, I want them reworked. Weaker vs buildings and infantry, stronger vs archers

I honestly dont expect the button being removed, so making the unit better designed is best we can get probably.
