Looks fun to me! Definitely going to turn it on. I wonder how long the skeletons stay? Battlefields are going to look a lot cooler now.

Looking at it longer it looks like even the deer are bloodied. They must have gotten too close to the battle lol

I was expecting units skeletons like the original not just bone props and tomato sauce. it can still bed saved though if myth units have their own unique skeletons

They did a bad job. The blood looks fake. Blood is darker when it’s clotted on the ground.

I think that might be a little too bloody. If every human unit makes a big pool the whole floor will be red after a battle.

I wonder if that is all related to the Aztec favour mechanic. Maybe they get favour from corpses?

Hard to tell from one picture because we don’t know if it’s just human units that have died there.

Blood almost always looks a little fake in media because real blood makes many people puke, which is not particularly fun.

I think it this case it looks blue because of the lighting in the winter map. I wonder how it will look like in other environments.

Well, better this than nothing…

Sure, maybe too exagerated…but i’m fine with that…

Maybe like the Norse…with more corpses in fighting they recibe more favor…

I thought about maybe something like Warrior Priests generate favour based on how many corpses are nearby.

It looks like shit, sincerely. Another half-baked work on the franchise
A better job has been done more than 10 years before . Just take a look at how DoW II, SC II brought gore while making it fun, immersive and readable at the same time.

The developers should also remove the blood covering the bodies of wounded animals; it just looks disgusting and wrong. No other RTS has blood textures covering wounded animal models. Blood textures should only affect military and myth units, and they should only appear when units are at low health

Look at this poor Norse Titan, it’s drenched in blood…

Wow, this look pretty crap tbh. I’ll wait until next week to see, but once again I think I’ going to be immensely disappointed with another missed opprotunity.

I’m hoping that the Titans have skeletons as well. That would be cool to see their skeletons mixed among the rest.

Yeah, I think the same…maybe the blood and corpses will be for that…

I’m not sure about Aztec favour generation, but this art isn’t from their mechanic. Remember that this is an optional DLC that not everyone will have. And I’m 100% sure it isn’t being released in China. It’s their way of getting around the China censors while still giving (selling) us what the old AoM used to do for free.

Yeah, that’s true…at least for China they could change the blood color to violet instead of red…how Blizzard can sell Diablo IV in China with all the blood that game have?…

There could be some additional visual if you play as Aztecs which is added on top independent of if you have the mod or not.

The Dark Eldar in Dawn of War 1 had a mechanic where they collected the souls of the dead for which they had an additional visual on top of the normal corpses (that didn’t decay btw. they just stayed the same way for the entire match).

Red paint smashed on top of every texture. Very generic and absolutely horrible for readability.
If they made it blend with the texture below (especially the blood on the ground) it would look much better.

Edit: But I rather have them fix all game breaking bugs.

Agreed. It looks like someone spilled a bottle of wine. The skeletons from the original were perfect. That’s what we all wanted.

Also blood coming out of all the unit is gonna be a lag fest.

This is more AI slop unfortunately…

Ghosts in Diablo III left “corpses” for Necromancers, it is bizarre.

I wonder if scarabs leave purple blood and lampades green blood.
