I have been working on my game getting better against the AI, and I thought I would try to jump into the online matchmaking. I see 3v3 and 4v4 and 2v2. Where are the games where everyone starts as a FFA or even better just starting neutral? The meta of jumping into a fight where its go go go from the beginning without a pause of getting eco together is really unappealing. I looked at custom games, but I don’t see a toggle on the starting options to force everyone to start diplomatically neutral. Is there a mod that would allow this?
Maybe you want something like treaty?
Like a 30 minutes no rush?

A FFA diplomacy game looks like what you’re describing. For AIs, some triggers would be needed as of now, minus the aforementionned peace treaty option.
An option for all to start at neutral would be cool for diplomacy games.
You can obviously do that if you set up a scenario but not for random maps atm.
But starting neutral would not really prevent rushing if you can just change it to Enemy any time.
Or do you want a match to be forced neutral all the time?
That would be so annoying to play. You have to always tell your units manually to attack villagers and buildings. Especially annoying to kill villagers that are repairing buildings or siege units.
