Issue:
During testing for another glitch, I found that a mid-match internet disconnection in Gauntlet mode not only kicks the user out of a single-player match when it shouldn’t, which has been mentioned as a tracked known issue since January 2025, but it also counts as a match loss that causes the player to lose a life.
To say this renders a roguelike mode unfair for players with poor internet is an understatement. This moves completing it from “extremely frustrating” to “literally unbeatable” as it would flush hours of play down the drain because of an easily-fixable coding mistake that has been known for months.
Trigger Event:
I was testing to see if the glitch that causes solo Arena of the Gods to be treated as a multiplayer match, with its internet connection required, was fixed yet, to see if it applied to Gauntlet Mode or only Story Mode, which has been plagued by this critical bug for months.
Repro Steps:
- Start a solo Gauntlet match in Arena of the Gods while an internet connection is active.
- Disconnect your internet momentarily, a roughly two second disconnection should be enough to trigger the glitch that kicks you out of the solo match.
- Reconnect your internet and return to your Arena of the Gods Gauntlet menu. You will have one less life than you should have.
