Atlanteans Revealed

yes! add less at first and give higher bonuses for scouting/taking risks. did you built 10 oracles? i just played one atty game yesterday (game didn’t allow me to play today) and forgot oracles are just built in the temple…x) so i just had the 3 from beginning which was enough favour till mythic but in mythic and beyond… plus loosing one not anymore really. at least from my experience.

I played 2 matches yesterday (didn’t have time today) one against a friend and one against a random person that was not good at the game.
In both cases I just tired the civ out and also did build a few additional Oracles but I had a lot of favour all the time.

Egyptians have:
5*0.1 = 0.5 Favour/second
They changed the monuments to all be the same.

Atlanteans have:
100.06 = 0.6 Favour/second
But they can turn Oracles into heroes giving them
10
0.08 = 0.8 Favour/second
That is significantly more then Egyptians.
Yeah they lose a little bit of population for that but it’s not that much.
And then on top of that there are multiple technologies boosting favour generation.
So Atlanteans can easily get 2x the Favour generation of Egyptians.

It should probably be reduced to 0.05/second per Oracle and also maybe let them start with less Oracles.
In return the limit for Oracles could be increased.
Then Atlanteans have to control a larger area of the map and sacrifice more population and resources to get the full Favour generation.

I like the new favour mechanik. It make them unique and works with the Civ Design. but one thing i would like to change or add would be that you can place oracles in a TC ( one per TC) to generate additional faith (maybe slower). So you would also have the chance to generate favor if you have no map control.

In one game I had the problem that I couldn’t really leave my base, so I have little to no favor income. that might help to have a little bit of secure income. Since favor has become much more important.

You can place an oracle in your base. Buildings and units don’t impact the generation rate, only other Oracles.

Also one minor god has a tech that gives TCs favour generation.

I am expecting you will have players hiding Oracles in corners of the map so now Scouting when playing against Atlanteans will be extra important.

The new favour generation mechanic has lot’s or people confused in the beta.

I wonder how they’ll introduce it to players when the game goes live.
I assume they will make sure no one misses that change.

It is explained in the Treasury section, but I realise a lot of people may not bother reading that.

I’d guess the new tutorial will have it in, and also the New Atlantis campaign will have been updated to make it clear that Oracles generate Favor now.
