Attack Move Command Bugs Compilation

Issue:

Chariot Archers are not behaving correctly with the Attack Move command. Sometimes they will just move to the point while military units are in range and just attack nearby buildings instead of attacking units in range.

Trigger Event:

Afer giving an Attack Move command to Chariot Archers during battle.

Repro Steps:

  1. Played during a Multiplayer match.

    In the video attached the Chariots were given a couple attack move orders. They prioritised attacking nearby structures. At 20 seconds another attack move command was given and they went back to attacking the same buildings even with enemy units in range. At 32 seconds I gave them another Attack Move order and the Chariots just moved directly to the point.


    An Editor test. If the majority of the group are attacking buildings and a small number of the control group are near enemy units they will all attack the building.


    Another Editor test. If one unit in the group is trapped in a building, the rest of the group acts unusually and ignores the attack move.


Here’s another editor test. It prioritises different movements depending on the majority of the units in the direction you box selected them or if you used the Select All Ranged hotkey.

Still getting attack move bugs especially with bone bow chariots. Here’s a small clip from yesterday after the patch. The units kept on defaulting to attacking a building while attack moving instead of attacking enemy units.

I literally just started having these issues..idk how to fix tried uninstalling re installing no mods everything

I’d guess that more often than not a player doesn’t want non-siege units to attack buildings with attack move when the attack move is clicked on the ground or on an enemy unit.

Maybe the solution here is to make attack move work differently for all units that aren’t siege-like (including siege myth units like scarab and behemoth).

Maybe leave attack move as is for siege-type units, and change attack move in the following way for non-siege units: If attack move is clicked on the ground or on an enemy unit, ignore buildings entirely. If attack move is clicked on a building, keep the same behaviour as current (i.e. attack the building until a unit is nearby).
