[Audio] AoE2 lowers Twitch sound quality

After “The Last Chieftains” update sound quality of Twitch (and probably other sound sources as well) is worsened, even if Voice Chat is turned off. I use bluetooth speaker.

  • 100% of the time / matches I play (ALWAYS)

Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Launch any Twitch stream

  2. Launch a game

I’m getting the same behavior here, after Update 169123 the soung gets distorted and reduced after 1 second of game run. I use bluetooth speakers and play using my Steam account. No twich in my case.

Impossible to play with a torn sound. Seems I’ll have to find another game until this bug is fixed.

I have a similar issue, but for me the sound is completely gone (both from the game and everything else - I’m watching Hera’s stream in the background), when I start AoE after updating to the new patch. Tried turning off Voice Chat, but it doesn’t help. When I turn the game off, the sound is back

+1 for my bluetooth sound is completely gone while the game is open, i have to change audio to another source to have any audio.

This solved my problem and i believe it might solve the original sound quality report too:

Not just twitch, ingame sound and in general, bluetooth audio is broken.
