And that’s why I said these forums
But seriously, I’m thinking that any well done civ will be bought. I don’t like a German split, but I would still buy a Prussian DLC if (and only if) it has good Historical Battles

I can do the next “Austria-Germany” “germany split” “banana prussia” poll tomorrow, who is responsible for publishing the day after tomorrow?
Yeah sure, I’ll post one on Tuesday
It should be forbidden to have both the words “Austria” and “Germany” in the same post, and any attempts should lead to a 3 day ban.
Better…from now until the Baltic DLC comes out, it is prohibited to make posts about Germany and India…full stop…
Are you playing censor? Where is freedom of speech?
It was most certainly a joke.
Oh boi. i hope this is a joke.
If ,Germans stay option" will win , Devs could add someday new mechanic to this faction - option to change ,Germans" to Prussia or Austrian Empire or HRE ( Saxony , Bavaria, Hessia etc) by the game when player want it. This could be nice and everyone will be happy ( ,stay option" defenders and people wanting split").
But the poll is only here.

yes… only here. just here. very new topic.
Do one on reddit. I did a similar one there once and there was a substantial amount of people who didn’t want a split
Shocking, I wonder why nobody wants to split Germany.
TBH, on the topic of splitting, let’s also split the ottomans into:
Yes, we have to see what they do with that…
Well in theory, Germany and Austria are federal states (16 German states plus 9 Austrian states give you 25 states or 6 by age minus 1, which is Berlin), so they could be updated to use the federal state system, but they would have to be given it to Russia too… although the post-colonial countries (USA, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina and Colombia between 1811 and 1886) would lose a little of their uniqueness…
These are the only ones that I accept are complete civs… and then the rest are revolutions shared between Germany, Russia and Turkey…
Israelis as a German revolution, damn, how did I not think of this??
Well you’re not that far from that…
Moral but not practical efforts were made in Prague to organize a Jewish emigration, by Abraham B3n1sh and Moritz Steinschneider in 1835.
Reform Jews rejected this idea of a return to Zion. The conference of rabbis held at Frankfurt am Main over July 15–28, 1845, deleted from the ritual all prayers for a return to Zion and a restoration of a Jewish state. The Philadelphia Conference, 1869, followed the lead of the German rabbis and decreed that the Messianic hope of Israel is “the union of all the children of God in the confession of the unity of God”.
In the 1890s, Theodor Herzl (the father of political Zionism) infused Zionism with a new ideology and practical urgency, leading to the First Zionist Congress at Basel in 1897, which created the Zionist Organization (ZO), renamed in 1960 as World Zionist Organization (WZO).[130] In Der Judenstaat, Herzl was explicit in mentioning that the “state of the Jews” could be established only with the support of a European power. He described the Jewish state as an “outpost of civilization against Barbarism”. In separate writing, Herzl compared himself to Cecil Rhodes, who was a strong supporter of British colonialist and imperialist ideologies.[45]
In 1896, Theodor Herzl expressed in Der Judenstaat his views on “the restoration of the Jewish state”.[131] Herzl considered antisemitism to be an eternal feature of all societies in which Jews lived as minorities, and that only a sovereignty could allow Jews to escape eternal persecution: “Let them give us sovereignty over a piece of the Earth’s surface, just sufficient for the needs of our people, then we will do the rest!” he proclaimed exposing his plan.[132]: 27, 29
Before World War I, although led by Austrian and German Jews, Zionism was primarily composed of Russian Jews.[133] Initially, Zionists were a minority, both in Russia and worldwide.[134][135][136][137] Russian Zionism quickly became a major force within the movement, making up about half the delegates at Zionist Congresses.
Were these independent great powers in the early modern period? No, they were all very much subordinate to the Turks. The only exception that you could reasonably argue for would be the Egyptians who were defacto independent.
I don’t see how this is even remotely comparable to multipolar regions like Germany or India.
Maybe we should talk about this topic again when people are not upset about only getting European DLC.
The last DLC was European and the next will be European again.
Most recent patches have focused on European civilisations (I count the Ottomans as European) while Asia has been neglected since TAD.
I think the opinions on a potential German split or adding Austria and Prussia as new civilisations will be pretty different after the game for some more none European content.
After India is split there will likely be a lot more people that want Germany to be split.
The problem is that now is the perfect time to split the Germans civ due to the upcoming Baltic DLC - if the Prussians civ were the third civ in this DLC and Germans civ would renamed into Austrians civ, there would be no need for any more civs from Europe. There is no better opportunity to do it - especially since we don’t really know anything about this DLC because nothing has been presented - hence there is still an opportunity to influence the creators.
Well, I think that spliting Germans civ is much easier than spliting Indians civ for many reasons:
And that’s it for the Germans civ split. It’s not difficult and could be a good warm-up and lesson for creators before Indians civ spliting. And this would be necessary for creators because:
These are the three main aspects/thoughts regarding Indians civ spiliting in my opinion. One thing is certain that the current Indians civ, unlike the current Germans civ, would not resemble their current selves after the rework.
