Austria & Germany poll

Interesting fun fact.

Anything else that stands out there?

I think if Devs release someday Austria & Prussia , actual ,Germans" should be reworked to ,German States" with many unique things like bew faction leader ( of course this faction will be available for everyone like now ,Germans". Such Dlc will be good also for Devs , if they wonna return to Europe after potential Dlc’s to other continents - without Austria & Prussia they only have Zaporozhian Cossacks & Crimean Khanate as good options for new european factions.

The mobile game campaign is the prequel to Morgan Blak’s campaign.

Game needs in addition to new factions , also some new units and features to some existing factions to be made then more interesting, as well as completely new campaigns. The old campaigns in AOE 3 were great, but the game needs also new ones: South American, European, African, maybe Napoleonic. Case of Austria , Prussia and German States" will be useful to good presenting and quality of potential European and possibly Napoleonic campaigns.

Mining coin from enemy houses would be a very
interesting civ bonus, don’t you think? (villagers memeing on Engelsberg Torps and forward Manors go brrrrr)

Every unit has a 3.0x multiplier against Azaps?

No, but seriously, jokes aside, any Jewish representation in the game would be a native Synagogue on the Middle Easter maps, Silk Road, New England, and Caribbean. Not necessarily a Mizrahi synagogue, either.

The native unit could be the Blue-Cap Buccaneer: “Jewish shock infantry. Privateer whose hand attack is strong against all infantry.” Cheaper version of the Bhakti Tiger Claw with more hitpoints but a lower flat bonus against ALL infantry, could be useful for Aztecs. Based off the history of the Jewish diaspora involving themselves in Mediterranean and Caribbean piracy and the triangle trade. The name isn’t SUPER authentic, and is inspired by the Chinese moniker for the Jewish community in Kaifeng, “Blue-hat Hui” (for some time, all Han Chinese Abrahamic adherents were grouped under the Hui label, distinguished in part by what they ate).

One tech could, yes, allow you to gather coin from enemy population buildings. Ironically, the Germans would now have a disgustingly good matchup against the Japanese on maps with a Jewish presence, since forward Shrines could help solve the GERMAN problems of mid-game coin shortages.

Another tech referencing the Kaifeng Jews could just enable Qizilbash at the Stable/Corral/Fort/training ship, as that community called its Rabbis “mullahs” for some reason.

A third (final?) tech could ship a number of Privateers or Galleys.

You do realize i was joking, right?

Jewish Minor Civilization could offer access to a Bank and a Lombard. It could have a unique Jewish Merchant unit that would generate Coins automatically by visiting Markets like AoE 2.

Can a discord conversation be considered “official”?

Look, the forum is created to discuss anything related to the aoe saga and in this subforum specifically with aoe3, the discussion of prussia and austria is totally valid, if you do not want to participate, simply do not participate and ignore, do not come to bother to those who wish to discuss.

Oh and please, argue with respect, everyone has the right and remember, heated discussion is allowed, but flames are not allowed.

With all due respect, if no one who disagrees engages in the conversation, then the tone is that the forum consensus is the german split is popular. Definitely nicer ways to say it than have been said in this thread, but after 3 years of a new thread at least once a month, I don’t blame them.

Sure thing, but isnt probably time to modderate the literal spam of threads asking for the same thing?
It does not bother having one every month, but every week?

What kind of discussion?, there is no “discussion” is the same old tired “a german civ with the state age-up mechanic” thread

What is left to discuss?
But oh boy if there is someone asking for Korea or smthg asian, the barrage of nonsense answers who are so predictable you could write down the counter before they even response (this is not a joke), and dont even start on asking for a native “merikan” civ, the Nicolas Chauvin himself will reencarnate to write down why a “uropian” civ deserves it more
:v:

Don’t worry, any other thread I see about German division I will simply redirect it here, I agree that it is already a lot of spam.

The answer to all that is in the code of conduct, I already shared it via private message

It is a poll so it’s not like the opinion against it goes unheard. And despite the biweekly low effort “plz add Australia-Hungary” request coming in like clockwork the polls are consistently a 50/50 split so it really seems like no one is convincing anyone.

The fact that is is constantly a live topic is as much the fault of the anti-split crowd as pro-split crowd. Controversial posts will always get more engagement and get bumped to the top so the best way to not encourage it is to not engage with it.

You guys really took very serious the saying “he said that no German split”

Is he Microsoft? No
Is he the sole developer? No

Can plans change? Absolutely yes.

Never say never.

The possibility of that is pretty slim.
And before you invoke the aoe2 precedent, it is significantly easier to make civs in aoe2, since the civs are essentially 90% the same thing, with tech exclusions and one 1 or 2 unique units being the differentiator.

In aoe3, it is much harder to do new civs, even if some of the units already exist, since the civs are essentially fully unique. They need to make enough different cards to warrant a new civ. They need to implement the special individual economic gotcha that makes each civ unique. And it will make balance much harder.

Needless to say it will piss off the existing Germany players.

How so? There really doesn’t have to be any gameplay changes, and if there are, it would likely be less intrusive than the last German rework that tried to cram in both Austrian and Prussian content.

The only things Prussian (or not-HRE/Habsburg/Austria) about the current Germans are:
The home city and leader name (can be easily repurposed)
The “Prussian” uhlan (easily renamed)
The “Prussian” needle gunner and its model (needs to be repurposed for a potential Prussian unit, but Austrians have good skirmishers too).
The July revolution and house of Hohenzollern card (both can be easily renamed)

All of these have little to no impact on the gameplay.

When people start asking and suggesting things for latinamerican civs, they made a latinamerica general post to condensate all the conversations, but it seems it’s not a problem to have a german split post every 5 new posts here

I played it and I don’t remember the Sicilians, only Maltese (Knights of St. John) and Ottomans
if they appear they were probably the Knights of St. John
in TAD Mobile there are the Japanese and Koreans (but they play like Chinese)

Yes, I agree
although I see the Zaporozhian Cossacks as a Polish rev
and about campaigns I don’t think so, but a dlc like large VaV-type scenarios I do see as probable

Yes, that’s true
let’s see what they do with that
