Since the devs have introduced auto deer pushing, there is a good case to be made that players should bind the “Follow” hotkey. Almost every single pro player don’t have Follow bound. That isn’t unusual. I have never used Follow myself even when I did have it bound. And a lot of pro players don’t have normal hotkeys like Guard bound because the competition for hotkey space at the highest level of AOE 2 is vicious and brutal.
T90 recently admitted he doesn’t have “Go to Krepost” bound because it is only used for one civ. Lots of people who play this game will ruthlessly axe hotkeys that compete for prime real estate.
If you do bind Follow I am curious where you found space for it. If you say you put Follow on “E” then you must highly value auto deer pushing. If you put Follow on Ctrl-Shift-E then you probably don’t think auto deer pushing is that useful.
