I think the effect of Zealotry is misplaced and makes Saracen struggle hard in transition into Imp with their mobile army. Camels weak in castle age and knights useless in Imp. It is like Indians that would miss the extra armour and just have Imp camel they would never really use camels.
The imp transition with cav is the problem that should have been focussed over totally changing focus to archers. And I think a free bonus is best. Yes 20 HP sound huge but lets compare how much arrows from FU archers the following units can eat:
FU Knight: 30
FU Cavalier: 35
FU Heavy Cam: 24
FU Indian HCam: 28
FU Indian Imp Camel: 32
FU Heavy Cam with 20 HP more: 27
So Saracen Camels would still be worse than Knights against archers, but ofc have other benefits like speed and cost. But ofc the HP applies to melee as well. But actually, the hits a Halb needs against a Heavy Cam remains the same with or without +20 HP just because of the bonus damage namely 5 (4.3 hits for FU Heavy Cam, 4.8 for FU Heavy Cam with 20 HP). So 20 more HP doesnt sound that huge suddenly anymore. It comes prob from the fact that we see Bloodlines making a huge difference for Knights but they have so much armour that the some extra HP translates into a lot of extra damage to be taken.
Scimitars sounds interesting but should be limited to camel riders
I mean after I made Zealotry a civ bonus basically I had a spare UT spot and wanted it to affect Camels Units again for balancing the loss of 10 HP in the late game. So I thought of stirrups but for camels which since bulgs dont have camels is not covered so far (First it was more bonus damage against cav but that is kinda boring
). But 25% is way too much I admit, since they deal a lot of damage against cav due to the bonus damage so dps against cav would increase hard against cav having even better dps than imp camel then.
Your concern regarding mamelukes could be addressed by adapting their stats as usual when civ bonuses are changed and UUs are affected. I mean Mamelukes are in no ideal spot either if you asked me. But they should be affected by the tech I think.
Well technically they just extended the CA anti-building bonus they had to foot archers. Now I can see why you wanna get rid of the siege archer, but why not leave the siege CA?
I don’t get why the devs shouls change an already good and fun to play civ like Saracens tbh

I just suggest at least decreasing the gold cost for Mameluke, this 85 gold cost is so sick, i think it will be good if it became cost 70 on gold
What do you think about giving saracens access to imperial camel? This may require making zealotry a mameluke buff only.
did you really need to bump a thread to post something you are already suggesting in another thread?

Imperial Camels are completely broken. No one deserves it. Devs should remove Imperial Camels from Indians.
Indians (and Khmer) has been ruining TGs since Age Of Empires II: The Forgotten.
However Zealotry price should be changed to 400F/400G and Memeluke deserves -15G because they’re unaffordable.
I agree imperial camels shoudn’t exist, but for different reasons.
1_They don’t historically make sense for indians. At least not with two camel bonuses over them.
2_Giving them to other civ would require a mayor rework to those civs for them to be balanced.
historical accuracy has never been a calling card of this game. (historically influenced, yes, but accurate? no)
as would giving them to Saracens, and it would require a major rework of Indians.
For the Indians living in Rajasthan it makes a lot of sense, they are living in a desert and their culture is totally made off the things Indians have.

First picture when you google for it

The rework would make a lot of sense, because (1) Indian Camels are completely broken in TGs (2) Indians lack military for 1v1s (3) the least: historical accuracy.

I don’t ask for historical accuracy by any means but, as you say, historical inspiration or representation.
But come on. Indians is a fantasy civ like celts and goths.
It does for them. But the game indians try to encompass the whole subcontinent (which is almosst impossible given how diverse it is).
What bothers me is how much emphasis is given to camels as the civ identity. Not only they have a unique upgrade, but also two civ bonuses and no knight line. It shouts at you to go for camels like if they were the core of indian army/culture.

It doesnt. The whole civ is made around rajasthan which can be followed by the campaign. The names is just badly chosen by the fanmade expansion called forgotten empires. There should have been at least one additional Indian civ added. All hail Chola Elephant monk
