Berries!? đŸ€” đŸ« 🍓

They’re about the developers suddenly being very intent on reminding us of berries for no reason

Did
did people really twist a post about Berries out of all things into wanting to add European civs?

This is beyond parody.

berries starts with b and clearly b is an upside down p and P means poland confirmed

Just imagine if there really was something. Wouldn’t that be fun?

I love when they do stuff like this in the lead up to new content. That debate over whether the puzzle was showing guarana fruit, persimmons or tomatoes pre KotM was a lot of fun! The Aoe3 diehard in me lives for these moments.

So fruit = new civ? lmao. But seriously, this is very possible. I don’t know why so many here think this is stupid.

That particular maelstrom of speculation was regarding Brazil, Persia or Italy. All based on a grainy image of a red fruit. Madness, but the fun kind.

Yes exactly! And this strange post was clearly not some random post. There’s obviously something to it. Lets just wait and see.

Remember when before they announced to Italy, they sent a picture of a berry bush?

Well, I think the berries are a key that confirms DLC hahaha

Perhaps there will be an announcement of some future civ, it’s unusual that a patch is released this long after the pup has ended.

Another defeat in the crusade of purging “people who want European civs” (sometimes “people who want any civ including Europeans).

Don’t get discouraged. A great deed like this takes great efforts.

Who knows!

All we know is:

  • The last Berry image was the start of a series of teaser images linked to KotM DLC
  • Said series started with:
    1. The Berries
    2. Zoom-out a little to reveal Berry Bush within a not-too-revealing enviroment - all within a jigsaw style shape.
    3. And then ending on a final image revealing one new civ’s settlement with many new units dotted around
  • It’s been a loooooong time since the last AoE3DE post, therefore a random Berry Bush image (with a previous ‘link’) is suspicious!
  • If there really is anything other than the planned Update we are all aware of, there will be more posts this week as per previous DLC teasers.
  • They just might like Berry Bushes.
  • #TriviaTuesdays tag - first time they’ve used this tag and it is relates to an actual AoE fact.
  • Swedish Torp and flag in shot. Surely not a lot else to reveal in that shot?

TLDR - probably just a genuine trivia post that won’t progress in the way that you all want, but I’d love to be proved wrong!

Exactly! Many people here seem to have forgot about this : https://twitter.com/AgeOfEmpires/status/1523741724870430721?s=20&t=CFcpZjcT7yXYrcfnHcqUOA

Current pic clearly shows swedens flag though.

If they “delayed” the new patch to merge it with something bigger in preparation I won’t complain.

But I still think they could at least keep the PUP live. I found it hard to get back to the current version.

After malta was added I’ve given up trying to guess what they’ll do next.

My suspicion is that the PUP has only gone dark for the general public, but it might still be active for select few.

It makes absolutely zero sense to delay the update for so long after a PUP as they do now. Even if they did not want to mingle with aoe4 events, they could have timed the PUP better. The July PUP effectively started and ended in June.

In my time as software engineer I have learned not to overestimate management, and pure stupid timing might be an answer to this, but overall, it makes more sense that they are delaying the PUP to finalize some other content.
