There’s just something great about the sound, you can hear the rich and mixed culture Sicily had!
Astonishing!!
I hear the european and middle eastern influence in it.
I think it features a special traditional instrument “Zampogna”, which was heavily used during both, the Islamic and Christian period.
Vitalis had that in his mind when he made this theme.
He wanted to catch the diverse and famous atmosphere that Sicily at that time had.
Zampogna sounds like Religion to you?

No, I didn’t say that. Some sounds that the instrument makes has a middle east influence. About the culture part, You know what culture is, do you? To you it obviosly is just religion…
It’s the way of life, the lifestyle of an entire society ( groups of people which live together in an organized way, a society can be mulitcultural, built on multiculturalism)… there are many more elements beside religion that fall under culture.

My favorite is Sicilians, i just love it and have been begging for official long versions of these civ themes since the game was released 
However it’s hard to choose just one, so here are my 7 favs.

For me number one is Cumans, but Sicilians is very close behind. Then Burgundians, Franks, Spanish and Byzantines. Portuguese also is very good, but also hits differently.
