Borderless Mode Fails to Scroll Game Screen When Mouse is not Locked

  • Game Version: v.100.17.43876.0 (502628R)

  • Build Number:

  • Platform: Steam

  • Operating System: Windows 11

Issue:

Since the update when playing with a display mode of “Borderless” and a multiple monitor set up, you cannot scroll the screen during the game in a direction that you have an additional monitor. Instead the mouse will just go to the other monitor. This did not used to be an issue.

Prior to the update when in menus and not in an active game the mouse could move freely between monitors and during the game it would scroll the screen around the map. I can “fix” this by locking the mouse to the window, but then the mouse is only bound by the literal point/tip of the mouse. The rest of the cursor actually appears on the other monitor (like rendered over my browser) and only the single pixel of the very tip of the mouse is bound to the window.

Unfortunately it is not possible for me to screenshot this behavior.

Ideally the mouse should behave how it did before the update. Where multiple monitor set ups could play borderless without the mouse locked to the screen and still functionally play the game.

Trigger Event:

The update that was rolled out with Arena of the Gods

Repro Steps:

1.Have a multiple monitor set up.
2. Set display mode to “Borderless” and toggle off “Lock Mouse to Window”
3. Attempt to scroll the game screen to any of the side that have an additional monitor.

Yep, also affecting me. Game is unplayable.

yep, having the same issue, absolutely unplayable

EDIT: I found a work-around. I downloaded Dual Monitor Tools. Under “Cursor - Sticky” I set “Lock cursor onto screen” to Ctrl + Shift + Alt + Left key to toggle the mouse lock to the primary screen. Then ticked “Allow cursor to freely move if this key is pressed” to Left Ctrl key, meaning you can hold left Ctrl to move cursor to 2nd screen. And whenever I close AoM I just click Ctrl + Shift + Alt + Left key to toggle the cursor pinning off again. Works like a charm.
