[Bug] Cheat Codes Crash Custom Campaigns

Issue:

Attempting the use the marco cheat codes to enable explored visibility crashes the game if used in a custom scenario.

Edit: The issue happens with all cheat codes, not just the marco cheat code. Testing with cheese steak jimmy's, and aegis, the game also crashes.

(I also hope you enjoy the alliteration in this post’s title :slight_smile:).

Reproduction Steps:

Here’s how to reproduce the problem:

  1. Launch a custom scenario, such as https://www.ageofempires.com/mods/details/1310/.
  2. Enter the marco cheat code.
  3. Crash.

“marco” cheat code also caused “Three Kingdoms Cao Cao” to crash for me, but first Wallace scenario didn’t crash. Cheats also work in standard game. So it appears, that cheats only cause crashes in custom scenarios.

Hi PhillySouljah, the new Japan scenario is bonkers. I wanted to check it out with marco polo. But the game crashes everytime any cheat is entered in any custom scenario. Is this a bug from the new update or something in the maps themselves?

It seems to be a bug with Custom Scenarios in the most recent patch.

Thanks pal. Though it seems to extend to all the cheats. I’ve tried scenarios from PhillySouljah and BassiAoC, tried the cheese steak jimmy’s and robin hood cheats as well, same effect. Can I add that to your report in a reply or do you have to do it?
