Buying AoE4 in Egypt and moving to Europe – any multiplayer issues?

Hi everyone,

I currently live in Egypt and I want to buy Age of Empires IV on Steam. However, I will be moving to Europe next month.

Because AoE4 has different prices on Steam depending on the country/region, I’m wondering if buying it in Egypt could cause any problems after I move to Europe.

Will I still be able to play online multiplayer normally with players in Europe? Could there be any region restrictions, matchmaking issues, or other problems with online play because the game was purchased in Egypt?

I’m not asking about changing the Steam store region itself — I mainly want to know whether the game’s multiplayer/online functionality will work normally after I move?

Short answer: yes, you will be able to play normally just like before.

There are no region restrictions on any of the Age of Empires games, unlike Ubisoft titles for example. Age of Empires IV also lets you choose the region/servers you want to play or queue in, and custom games are joinable regardless of region.
