If it is not too much trouble, that would be nice. Romans already speak Latin.. It is more historically accurate. It shouldn’t take too much time.
That’s it. thanks!

You should post it on AoE2 sub-forum, this one is for AoE1 ![]()

Need more UU unit too expansive compares with thing they can do, cataphract need reduce cost from 70f75gold to 70f70gold,
Byzantines could use a modest refresh. Perfect opportunity in a Balkan DLC wink wink.
No prostagma?

Would have been perfect if they got a new building set too.
I’d say we need at least 5 new ones:
Byzantine/Caucasian (or maybe separate Byzantine/Bulgarian and Caucasian)
Second East Euro one (current East Euro is kinda overused)
Nomad (Huns+Cumans+Mongols)
Sinitic (Chinese+Khitans+Jurchens+Koreans+Vietnamese)
Ancient Chinese (if Wu+Wei+Shu are kept, though I’d prefer if they were removed)
And if not a Nomadic one, a Sedentary Mongolic (Mongols + Khitans? + Jurchens?) one and a Roman/Ancient Mediterranean one (Romans+Goths+Huns)
Also a retexture of Meso so it doesn’t look like unpainted rock and maybe so the overgrowth is less exaggerated.
Current East Asian would be kept only for Japanese and, if the devs make that, Emishi.
There was a pro-stigma.
So, about Central Asian architecture for Persians…
I’d give the current red brick buildings from the Castle age to Central-Eastern civs like Poles and Lithuanians (and in case of a Teuton split, to the eastern Teutons who’d represent Brandenburg and the Teutonic Order, they’d also get the current “Slav” castle), while the wooden buildings of the Feudal Age and white buildings with black roof of the Imperial Age would be kept by Eastern Slav civs.
I’m not convinced it’s doable for a single set to cover both the Mongols and the Hunnic Empire in Europe. IMHO two are needed.
Yup.
Arguably Koreans might fit two, albeit my only expertise is watching Korean historical dramas and I might be overlooking some differences that are obvious to Koreans and Japanese.
Also, Ryukyuans? Or the “Wokou” if Vikings and Varangians count as civs.
give credit where credit is due
Mongols Khitans Juchens could share one set and Goths Huns can be some barbarian set?
Mongols and Khitans sure, I don’t know enough about Jurchens to say whether they should use Chinese or Mongol style (apparently most of them lived in settled chiefdoms, only some Jurchens were nomadic?)
Barbarian set would be definitely cool, could also be used for Chronicles if they ever reach Rome’s wars with Germanic tribes.
Something is something, I suppose…![]()
The Jin dynasty in AoE 4 uses the architecture of East Asia (that is, China and Japan)…so the Jurchens in AoE 2 would continue using that architecture, while the Mongols, Khitans and the barbarian civs would have a nomadic/barbarian set…
Cheers!
