C06T09R09X-01 when an online match starts, 100% repro

A week or two ago, I started hitting an error at the very beginning of any online match (ranked, etc.). Other PCs in my home are unaffected, so I don’t think my networking/internet infrastructure is a factor.

My game version reports as aoe age4 13.2.4553.0.

Here’s the error I see:

An unexpected error has occurred due to a possible de-synchronization of match participants. Match data may not be accurate and final match results may not be available.

Some troubleshooting steps I’ve tried:

  • Rebooting.
  • Uninstalling and reinstalling the game.
  • Ensuring that I’m not connected to VPN when playing the game.

I’m a Windows Insider, so it’s possible that the version of Windows I’m running is in play (currently Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 27871). I didn’t notice a correlation between a new Windows build and the AOE4 issue, but it’s possible that I missed it.

I have this same issue with an error at the beginning of every online match. I’m also on Windows 11 Insider Preview. The error started with build 27871 and persists with 27881.

I have this same problem, it’s getting really annoying. Sometimes it comes up right towards the end of a match.

No idea what the fix was (to Windows? to Age?), but I’m happy to report that I’m no longer seeing this issue. I’m now on ~Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 27919.

In 4v4 ranked match, in around 37 games, 2 games I lost sync at the very first second. In both game my friend observed 2 teamates and 1 opponent losing connection at the same time, which leaded to straight defeat.

Disappointing it was, any mechanism compensating the lost score for the 2 ranked match on our team?

One match record on AOE4 world is here.
