He was one of the greatest emperors in Indian history. He conquered Afghanistan to the South of India and made it one. Later gave up war and followed the path of Buddha. It’ll be a great campaign for sure.

AoE4 is not based on Ancient Age
Okay, so It was the time of the 4th century BC. And AOE will be based on a more recent timeline?
AoE4 is based on Late Medieval Period (10th to 16th century)
AoE1 covers Ancient Age.
Mughals mark the beginning of Modern Gunpowder Age.
Medieval Age is roughly the period before the entry of mughals (early modern age) and after gupta period (classical age/late antiquity).

Now taht this is in the proper game forum, the game does need Mauryans, with an Ashoka campaign.
It is a bit silly that a game set in Antiquity, still does not have Mauryans, Celts, Lybians, Israelites, Scythians or Nubians.
These peoples were huge for the period.
Actually he would fit better in the first game, as he ruled from 268 to 232 BCE!
