Campaign

Remembering my old impressions, I think it would be very timely to tell about this. Compared to AoM, the campaign looks very poor. This is disappointing. In addition to the fact that the AI is stupid, it is also buggy. I don’t remember such problems in AoM. The scenario was well written but shortened to a list of enumerations.

There was plenty of room for development. I still meet players with nicknames like “Arkantos”, but I don’t see players with nicknames like “Morgan”. I’m surprised that it went wrong.
Perhaps I remember very poorly what happened 20 years ago, but I don’t remember any similar problems with AoM.
It’s worth noting that the Hurons need to be nerfed because 75 mantles from 2 settlements is too much. That would be an army of 150 population.
In the Urgent News mission, the AI does nothing at all.
In the first mission of the Asian Dynasties, both of your allies block the path they just opened with buildings. I don’t believe this is not done on purpose.

They also took away the ability to get Morgan as a skin.
I can hardly imagine myself going through the entire AoM without DLC in two days.
There are a lot of cool things in the game that aren’t used anywhere, they could also be adapted.

But it seems we will never see them again.
Overall, it all looks very bad.

On the positive side, I can only evaluate Blood, Ice and Steel. However, even this does not reach the level of AoM.
Seriously. I don’t remember the name of the guy who blew himself up with Warwick (but him I remember, lol!).

First time i see that blocking your path thing. XD looks hilarious.

The mission of building this fort was the most unusual trigger in the TWC gameplay!

Overall the campaign needs to be rebuilt from scratch and expanded in content.

The Mexico, United States and Malta could be replaced by the current versions.

The campaign would benefit from a cooperative mode.

Depending on where the developers want to aim, they could expand the lore of the circle or on the contrary, they could expand the campaign into something more historical.

Off topic.

I would love for the two types of walls in the campaign (stone and wood) to be an upgrade or card, I think it could work by converting only the walls near the urban centers and at the same time using them as a guide to know where the flat part of the wall has to point. (Always towards the opposite side of the urban center)

This may be very subjective, but for me, Arkantos and his son have more charisma and their campaign feels more epic than the Black family’s.

Also, in my opinion, the circle doesn’t seem like such an imposing enemy when compared to the Olympians and the titans.

Perhaps there was a lack of investment in the campaign, especially in writers who could take advantage of what the game and the historical period could offer.
