even against spanish GC theres a much easier way to do it. spam a ton of trebs and tile them exactly 16/17 range w/e is the max range for your civ.
once the longest range set up start attacking ground/water at it’s furthest range, then another treb 1 tile closer, repeat until GC are forced to fight or run out of space.
though it does take a ton of time, way better than any other method. of course best if someone happen to be britons treb.

I think this is exactly why rules are loosely defined. So people playing around the rules boundaries (by being as toxic as possible without hard breaking any rule) also get punushed.
Rules are usually meant as “stay away as much as possible from this kind of behavior”, not as “this kind of behavior is prohibited, every thing else is welcome, as close as it is to the prohibited stuff”.
i hope so. There is probably no rule either that you should give up, when your chances of winning are 0 and you are only wasting your opponents time(only hiding vils for example) and still it should be common sense not to do that.

those civs would for sur emake it easier. and use onager to destroy tree around waterline as you push in slowly with treb. in the case you do fail they got no wood to fight with you.

He built those ships when there is wood, and he doesn’t have a base at all after that, he has 50 vills in boat in mid of the lake, no tc no dock no working vills,you just need to kill his existing ships, but it need a fully coordinated team, not random ranked players, and maybe it takes 20 hours to do it

It is the fault of the devs that certain mechanics are in the game, and he should not be punished for the lazyness of the devs.
Maybe some of his chatting can be punished, but don’t know enough about what he writes in game.
Spanish Cannon Galleons for example are kinda unbalanced and it is a fault of the devs. That there is no wonder victory even after 4 hours is also a mistake by the designers. TC dropping with teammates is a problem because of suboptimal matchmaking.
Then he has strats like 9 pop Scouts with Khmer. The opponents resign even tough they have more villagers. And after the win poop lord has nothing better to do then write in chat that he has just 9 vils. So he want to annoy opponents. But the general mistake here is that players resign to early. If he writes something like “gg easy”, that could be punished but overall the devs are to blame.
That players try to find out unique strategies is a very interessting thing, I wouldn’t use some bullshit strategies, but if the devs keep them in the game, it is way too easy to blame poop lord.
I am talking about long term, he would need wood. destroy them so when he does try to land and rebuild he will have nothing. while you have unlimited trade and trade your trebs with his GC, which refers to the strat above

Yes, he should. If you go into a game with the sole purpose of forcing people to quit rather than trying to win yourself, you should get punished for that because that’s simply toxic behaviour.

Not comparable. This strat is fine because the aim is to win the game, not stall the game…and yes not only is he playing rather annoying strats, he is a coward who plays most of the time against lower people and then shittalks them even. Why would u keep these players around?
When we talk about long term, it is hours and hours. No one has the free time like him to play a pond game for that long. That’s how he wins. By out lasting opponent until opponent has something else to do and must leave the game.
9 pop scout is a legit strat. I don’t deny he has some really fun unique strats, but his other perspectives deserve perma ban
This. It is not that he lacks common sense. He knows exactly what he is doing. And that’s exactly why he is doing these. His message is clear - If these are supposed to be illegal, make a clear rule and see if he still does that. Until that he will consistently doing these types of things.
I never read any of them. I never entered his stream and total amount of time I have spent on his YouTube channel won’t exceed 10 mins. Is there anything breaking that rule, take screenshot and report.
The key point here is the intention.
One problem of some maps is, that during the game playing passive and defensive can be the best startegy. This is the case when both sides have such good defense, that attacking just leads to loosing ressources. So it actually becomes the best strategy to do nothing/defend and wait until the opponents wastes ressources, or dcs or leavs. I still tried in these situations to attack in the past, but the longer you do it the more you question it. I am talking about the map Baltic here.
So trying to defeat the opponent can be a bad stategy, and players should not be forced by the devs to play bad strategies. The difference here is that poop lord maybe goes into a game with this intention already at the beginning. But interpreting thoughts of players is a bit too much imo. The devs should just enable Wonder victory after 3 hours in ranked, and nobody would use such strats.
It also would fix maps like Baltic, which produce such situations without bad player intentions.

Well, smurfs are always bad for the game and maybe it’s only my opinion but i feel like you don’t feel disrespected at least if sb beats you with a tryhard strategy but yeah it’s never enjoyable if you play games, where you have no realistic chances to win…been there often enough when the teamranked system was so bad, that people abused it.

Not really, or at least not right from the start. If you put these canon galeon thing aside, it rarely happens that games would end in a “draw”. Playing defensive the whole game is most of the time just stupid because one of the players should have some kind of advantage at 1 point so he attacks…and if he fails the other one should use that to win the game. There are so many differences between 2 players(skills)/civs that one should win the game, if he really wants to.
If only defending/doing nothing is the best strat…why do pro games never play out like dat…or maybe only 1 out of 1000 games?
