Can we get this zoom out feature.Modders can do why devs wont do this? Is it a game breaking thing?

Yeah, using the existing mod to zoom out is unusable. The game purposely has fog to prevent its use. Pretty sad that the initial design decision was to have cam zoom that makes year 1995 games running at 800x600 or lower blush, and that decision has survived four years strong
This is fog blocking your view and being annoying when you zoom out farther, hard-coded in the game… not snow:

yes please bring this feature, this is one of the most important features. That would be great and offer significant added value.

when it comes to ingame camera zoom relic is a notoriously stubborn company, they think the current zoom is better and will not budge, this was #1 feedback back in betas besides the hotkeys and all that happened since then was panoramic which only changes the angle and not the distance of the camera, so a non fix, the only other thing that was thankfully fixed was camera not going up with elevation initially

Maybe it will break the game with bugs and crashes?Also it can put pressure on to the pc too?
well free cam mod breaks precisely nothing and is used in all marketing for this game extensively, they even disable fog at times to help it out, they’ll never tone that fog down
you know they can always do the aoe3 approach and have extra zoom out as an option you specifically have to enable with performance warning attached to it, it works for that game, and AOM, so why would it be too much here

I have a strong feeling it would not break or ruin the game, especially for single-player or MP skirmish vs. AI games. It’s likely just a hard-coded setting for competitive and/or artistic reasons
As with anything and everything in video games that have options to toggle on/off, it should be up to the player whether or not they want any performance hits. We are all adults now and have been playing video games for years. We know how Options screens work. Unless you have the latest/greatest PC rig, what modern games do people play with everything on Ultra High settings
With AoE4, it has been playable on max graphics for me since it came out because the graphics weren’t exactly pushing any boundaries. I can afford some zoom out ability
Artistically, the graphics have been pretty muddy and buildings aren’t as easily identifiable as they have been in past AoE games. There could be a fear that people will struggle to make things out … but, I mean, if they would struggle at a farther out zoom, then the same issue would exist close in. So it’s a non-issue, imo

bit of a bold take, i’m not oppossed to competitive modes keeping the current zoom around, when you play real fast you naturally push the camera closer in RTS games if its really far out, i always zoom back in with aoe of old and aom for sake of precision, but outside of competitive modes, have at least a lobby setting or smt that isn’t a mod to have a camera go further out for folks that want that, lobby folk and ladder folk have little crossover
You do, and some or all the devs do, but not everyone does. I don’t. And I don’t personally need training wheels or guard rails telling me what I can’t do (within reason) with a simple zoom, but that’s just me

gotta mention i only zoom in when playing faster, then when not required anymore, back out to max then back in as required, if its not about precision i stay on max for the sake of vision and awareness (ofc in combination with following what i don’t directly see via minimap) (references: aoe2 DE, 3 DE and retold)

I always play fast, to my abilities and sanity, at least. In AoE4, you seriously find a need to zoom in? I can’t imagine zooming in any farther than the max zoom-out in AoE4. It is already incredibly close
I can see the concern with AoE2 much more than with AoE4
aoe4 is the only game where i don’t use zoom at all, its already too close most of the time

Reviewing games and even tournaments with this much zoom would be so great. For in game/playing, I think it’s good as is
I agree. Players should not have the option or ability to zoom out anymore if they want. Lock it in where it’s at forever because there is absolutely no reason anyone should ever want to zoom out more while playing, plus it makes the game very unfair especially for computer players when people play against AIs in SP vs AI or MP vs AI games
