Cannot advance to age 2, incorrect player count

Issue: in single player skirmish:

Cannot advance to age 2, UI elements missing:

Incorrect player count. cant import more than one image but basically selecting 2, shows 1, selecting 3, shows 2, etc.

Trigger Event:

Problem since release

Repro Steps:

start single player skirmish

Adding some context. No mods installed, cleared steam files, reinstalled from steam, verified game files, etc. Multiplayer skirmish works fine. Different deities produce the same result. AI players can advance age fine.

Looks exactly like the problem I am facing. Any update on that?

Did you also have the problem that any game that started just ended within seconds .?
