Cannot connect to multiplayer services

I am unable to connect to the multiplayer services. When I try to connect, I am met with the following message-
"Sorry, failed to connect to multiplayer services. Server certificate authentication failed.
Source: AccountLoginEvent
Error Code: 0xfffffffff
Extended Code: 0xffffffff3

:arrow_forward: FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

:point_down: How often does the issue occur? CHOSE ONE; DELETE THE REST!

This issue started occurring when I switched computers. I used to play this game on my laptop with no issues, but when I moved over to a PC and downloaded the game again from my Steam account, it stopped working and this error happened.

  • 100% of the time / matches I play (ALWAYS)

Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue:

:point_down: What was SUPPOSED to happen if the bug you encountered were not present?

I would have logged into the game and would be able to connect to any multiplayer lobby. I would be able to play online with friends.

:point_down: ALWAYS attach a PICTURE (.jpg, .png, .gif) or VIDEO (.mp4, YouTube link) that highlights the problem.

I tried deleting the “SoftwareLicenses” folder and the “Bug” .dlls. then I went to steam, right click on aoe2, properties, installed files and check the integrity of the game files. They are installed again and it worked for me
