Caravans Idling if Defensive Default + Group Symbols Disappearing

  • Game Version: v.100.17.22308.0

  • Build Number: 481060R

  • Platform: Steam

  • Operating System: Windows 11

Issue:

Issue #1 - Caravans idling after route interruption
Caravans stop their route after reaching the destination if there is a body block ONLY if your units are set to defensive as default. Seems to be a bug from the old game as I changed my default unit stance to aggressive and this fixed it.

Issue #2 - Group symbols dissapearing
No idea what the trigger was, but the top right icons for unit groups completely disappeared. Can’t find anything in the settings pertaining to this. The hotkeys still work and select groups, I just have to always remember them.

Happy but not happy that I’m not the only one seeing that. Caravans works really bad, I put them in auto queue, so I don’t need to worry about them, but they stop so frequently that at the end of the day I waste more time trying to reactivate them than doing anything else. They go idle super frequently.

I’ll try a couple of matches with aggressive stance to see if it improves somehow. I’m a bit skeptic that it has anything to do with caravans but if it works, you are going to save my sanity.

And you save it!.. effectively having the stance on aggressive make the caravans work fine. Even the 60 going to the same market, looks like the collision is reduced to zero so they don’t block each other.
Thank you again!

it does. i had to revert to agressive for it to work again. because like with you, i had to manage every second caravan.

I have the same problem with caravans. I also use the default defensive stance and I’d rather not change that.
This occurs with caravans spawning from the market with a waypoint set on town center. They just walk part of the way (varied) and turn back empty before reaching their actual destination, as if they fail to find a suitable path to their destination.
Setting the waypoint next to the town center instead of on it, mitigates the pathing problem, and at least prevents them from turning back empty the entire way, but it still forces me to manually select and move each one individually after they go idle.

During the games that this happens, this issue has taken quite a significant portion of my attention and has caused so much hit to my economy.

Any ETA on when this is going to get fixed?

i’m seeing this bug, too. quite annoying as i like using defensive stance. still waiting for a fix!

This bug still exists. Is there a way to submit bugfixing requests to the devs?
